Hearlihy is transferring per Abrami. Probably a grad xfer, will not have to sit out next year I'm guessing. Good luck to him.

Re: 2017-2018 Vermont Catamounts

Dingba can't play sf. He is a liability on offense down low. On the perimeter he would be a wreck. Wills was horribleness offensively until his senior season. All of sudden he could dribble to his baby hook at will last year. Luckily we can pair dingba up with some shooting big men in Henson and lamb so the paint doesn't become too congested.

Lamb is not a SF either. His three point game is pick n pop. The perimeter skills are not there yet. He can take big men off the dribble but I don't see that happening with consistency on quicker wings. Ideally you would post him up at the 3 but we don't have the bigs who can spread the floor enough.

Hopefully Nash commits tomorrow and we are done with these silly ideas. I was liking the idea of Hearlihy starting. Now with him gone Nash can start with Everett then patella coming off the bench.

I think Wills was a better than 50% FG shooter every year at UVM. If that's horrible, what isn't?

Wills' best year offensively was his sophomore year. He was doing the dribble drive layup/hook back then.

Re: 2017-2018 Vermont Catamounts

This was the first year Wills made people routinely pay for playing off him. His sophomore year some people were still playing him too tight. I'm sorry if you can't see the difference in his game.

Better than this year with his fourth all time highest fg% season in UVM history?

61% vs 57% while taking almost 2 more shots a game. I stand by my assessment.

Probably assists or shots taken are what we should be kibitzing about in discussing his offense. As far as shooting is concerned, when he has taken the shot he has made it over half the time every year and that is what seems like more than respectable to me.

Re: 2017-2018 Vermont Catamounts

Now that recruiting is done:
Losing Steidel, Wills and Payen
Adding Smith, Patella, Dalyrimple, Shungu, Everett, Dingba, Nash and Kpedi

If you thought minutes were hard to come by this year, just wait til next year. Hard to see Patella not red shirting. Not sure about Smith, but need to groom him to succeed TBH, so he likely won't redshirt. More departures seem likely. The minutes are just not there.

Not sure why you say the seniors are not going anywhere. Hearlihy just transferred. if a kid wants to play and sees very little playing time for next year, he will leave. Conversely, some kids are content to be a little used sub their final year, and enjoy the ride of another hopefully championship season. I can't read minds, but see very little PT for Rohrer. Wouldn't be surprised if Urquart left as well.Dalyrimple just got recruited over before playing a game. Shungu's a walk on. They'll see what happens this year, but PT could be scarce for both, and then we'll see.

Re: 2017-2018 Vermont Catamounts

I would expect rohrer, Everett, and kian as potential transfers for more playing time.

I think Everett has the most to gain by staying as he should be the first wing off the bench next year. Rohrer has graduated could go anywhere. Kian really has no playing time moving forward. I think Everett, Nash, and patella beat him out

Re: 2017-2018 Vermont Catamounts

Ward would be a guy that I would be concerned about leaving. His minutes got cut pretty drastically this year after being a pretty solid contributor for us his freshman and sophomore years.
