2017-2018 Vermont Catamounts

Seems timely to set up a thread to discuss all things UVM for next season. There is another thread to discuss next season for AE in general.

I mean, we wouldn't want you to post with the rest of the fans...and have a running all-league dialog going.

Were you against having a 2016-2017 Vermont Catamount thread, or the 2016-2017 Stony Brook thread, or the 2016-2017 UMBC thread or the 2016-2017 New Hampshire thread or the 2016-2017 Binghamton bearcats thread?

Did you ever hear of that new-fangled idea called a thread?

This board's driven by supply and demand....more UVM fans are demanding and supplying the information on this board.

I found it ironic that the Albany fan's one post was to complain about UVM fans talking about UVM in an all-league thread- so instead of doing that, maybe post something specific about Albany? Post something about SBU? Post something about UMBC? Personally, I like talking about the other schools in the conference- but if nobody else is, don't rely on a UVM fan to bring it up probably. If the Albany players that sat out this year are all awesome, I'm probably not going to be the first to know that.

Take the discussion in another direction... Because if people don't, then yeah, most of the stuff on here will be about UVM by default. This isn't hard to figure out.

Re: 2017-2018 Vermont Catamounts

And now back to the thread...

What's the single biggest area needing improvement in the '17 - '18 season? Mine is guard play behind Bell-Haynes. Would like to see more productivity out of the 2 spot and more consistency in the back up PG spot.

Duncan's certainly capable of going for 20 on any given night, but we really never knew which ED was going to show up.

While not necessarily a liability, I'd like to see Ward run the offense more and dribble less. Seem like he frequently dribbled the clock to 10 seconds, forcing them to run a less than desirable play. He risks seeing his minutes diminish further if he doesn't show some improvement in running the team.

Probably a big reason another point guard is coming in as a freshman next year.

ED's production is partly due to the offense and the game plan, as well as the overall balance of the team. Remember, no one averaged more than 13 a game this year and the team was extremely successful to say the least.

Re: 2017-2018 Vermont Catamounts

I'd like to see a really good early season tourney on the schedule. Maui or NIT?

I'd also like to see nothing but D1 after the St. Mikes game. In general our OOC SOS was very good 2016-17 but even that could get better with another power conf game or two.

I know they are not really a step up from the AE, but how about a Patriot League game?

Would love to see Boston U at Patrick every other year.

Maybe a series with Mo Jo's GW team!

Lehigh or Bucknell would be great Patriot League opponents and would be a reasonable road trip.
