Probably needs a different model than JuCo transfers at Dartmouth. Good that he didn't leave though, that has bad fit written all over it.

You're making the assumption that Brown isn't tailoring recruiting to the destination. It's like people think that the only strategy Brown has is to get JuCos.

Not sure what a tournament has to do with becoming a powerhouse. I'd classify Harvard as a powerhouse before they got the tourney, not to mention Penn and Princeton in the past.

Of course it's all speculation and in fun, but Brown is a good coach, no doubt he would be successful wherever he coaches.

Implying Brown has won more tournaments than regular-season titles.

Of course I am; Brown has shown that JuCos and his coaching are a winning combination at Albany. Any destination that can't employ the same practices that have been proven to be successful at Albany will bring question marks about his ability to succeed when he can't use those tactics, until proven otherwise.

UMBC will travel to Charleston to play in a weekend tournament December 1-2.

UMBC opens the tourney against the Citadel, while the other matchup features Army vs. Marist.

I heard a rumor that UVM will play Syracuse in December. Any confirmation?

Not really intended as a dig, more as a tongue-in-cheek comment about how no matter how iffy Albany may look in the regular season they ALWAYS show up big for the tournament, outside of 2016

TovarishchLisa - It's a dig - but remember UA keeps finding a way to compete.

Re: 2017-18 America East OOC Schedules

I don't think the student body at UA has any impact on will browns recruiting.

I do believe the new Hartford AD was scared to put a foreign coach as head and have a team of mainly euros. I don't think he wanted the stealing scholarships from American kids for foreigners reputation for himself or the school. It's the only reason I could think of on why Gallagher wasn't fired and the AC promoted.

Re: 2017-18 America East OOC Schedules

That's the *only* reason you could think of?

Maybe the new AD, who's been there about 5 minutes, decided she wasn't going to be leveraged into making a rash coaching hire from a one-candidate pool. So you keep Gallagher, realizing that in the grand scheme another sub-par season isn't really going to affect anything (after all, you're Hartford), then you can start fresh next spring at the start of a hiring cycle, where you can put in the effort to make *your* hire...not the hire the promise of a couple of teenagers was going to corner you into.

Or you use half your brain and see that Gallagher should of been fired last year, The basketball team is in shambles, the team has no direction, and you are blessed to have a Person like Simovic who somehow gets a legit nba draft candidate to commit to your school as well as an all league caliber player.

How do you let him go? Certainly not to keep Gallagher around. If you wonder why the AE has as many down years as it does look at the ADs who can't pull the trigger on these failing coaches.
