Honestly, whatever it takes to get Lamb a home game in Rochester and make him happy- the fact that St. Bonaventure has been able to maintain a solid team under Schmidt is a bonus. Who cares if we have to go to Olean, really.

Syracuse, Canisius and Niagara would have been easier to get to than Olean.

UVM might play Niagara also, sort of a double dip while they're in the area.

Players growing up that area are used to the cold, so that's not a concern for recruiting.

IF St bonnies gives us 2 away games and a neutral court game we must be getting paid and becker stated he wanted 3 money games. I think we do a one and one with the third game in Rochester which is closer to them.

Huh? The game is being played in Rochester, NY- that's Lamb's hometown, and the linked Little Julio provided states the game is literally being played in Rochester, NY....for and because of, Lamb.

Finally, the game is definitely *relatively* close for Trae and Stef Smith but Rochester, NY is still a 3 hour car ride away from Toronto- so that's like saying a game in Boston is a home game for someone from Vermont?

Games in Buffalo against either Canisius, Buffalo, or Niagara will be as close as it can get for TBH- and I would expect one of those teams to be on the schedule.

Yea I didn't read anywhere that says UVM is playing in Rochester for Lamb. They said it will be a homecoming game that's it. Unless its a coach's quote we cant say for sure why Becker agreed to it.

Rochester might be the next closest if those 3 Buffalo area schools don't want to play us. Sure we could get a closer game for Tre but its not a 100% up to us.

The Home game is great for whomever it was done for. More importantly with a game against Richmond next season, and for 3 years with St. Bonaventure. That is 2 A-10 schools, helps the leagues RPI and better than Southern Vermont.

If you can't figure out the game is being played in Rochester for Lamb after reading that, I don't know what to say. Why else in the world would it be played there? Olean is nearly equidistant from Toronto as Rochester.

If you really want to split hairs, I'd say the game is being played in Rochester...for St. Bonaventure. They've started playing a game a year there in recent years, which makes sense for them: Olean is in the middle of nowhere, and putting their brand out in Rochester is good for exposure, etc. Regardless of "who it's for," perhaps UVM was smart enough to key in on the fact that the Bonnies have this showcase, and that a game in Rochester is also good for us.

Wasn't trying to be funny. But guys are going it's for Lamb, it's for Tre.

I was just saying it is the caliber of the opponent no matter who they are
going their for.

Finally a rational post on this game. It is in St. Bonaventure's interest to play a game in Rochester. They did the same last year. St. Bonnie is not playing in Rochester to give Lamb a home game. It works out well for UVM, so we should just be happy.
