2017-18 America East OOC Schedules

It's about that time again...

Just noticed that Binghamton will be playing in the "Mayan Division" of the Cancun Challenge.

If history is a guide, this means that they will get road games against 2 of the 4 teams in the "Riviera Division" of the tournament (Fresno, Evansville, George Mason and Louisiana Tech) in the weeks leading up to the main event.

Then during Thanksgiving week the "Mayan Division" plays a 2 round 4-team tournament amongst themselves in Cancun. Other Mayans are Cal State Northridge (Big West), Southeast Missouri (Ohio Valley) and Montana State (Big Sky).

Nice! These early season tourneys are great for teams in low major conferences like the AE.

Yeah It's nice if you get some wins, but for Dempsey I See it as a nice short vacation before he's permanently on vacation from Bing...

Couple other OOC games per Jon Rothstein,

Vermont @ Richmond

Hartford @ Rutgers

Also TBH is returning after putting his name in the draft lol

Richmond game for Vermont, could mean they are both in a a preseason tournament together. But good game against A-10 school.

St. Bonaventure and Vermont will begin a three-year series next season with a neutral site game in Rochester, per a source.

Great news for Anthony Lamb. He gets a home game as a sophomore. Nice job by the coaching staff and well deserved for Anthony.

I was looking for how and why this series came about. This game is a home game for Anthony but even more important a Home game for the senior reigning mvp Tre. I'm guessing Buffalo wasn't willing to play ball so a game in Rochester was the next closest thing for him.

St bonnies has no reason to play in Rochester and is giving us a home and home on top of that? Somehow we scored with this scheduling.

I wouldn't bet on it being home and home for the other 2.

They could have gotten almost anybody to play in Rochester if they were going to play the next 2 games in the arena of the other team. I highly doubt that they will play 2 games at St. Bonaventure just to get a single game in Rochester.

Maybe Bonaventure sees it as a recruiting tool. Olean is about 100 miles from Rochester. Could be they don't mind expanding their visibility in the region. They must compete directly with Buffalo, Canisius, Niagara and Syracuse (to a lesser degree) for upstate NY talent (how did they all miss Anthony Lamb?).

If UVM asked for a home-and-home and St B's wanted a two-and-one, it's a good compromise.

No way should a program of UVM's caliber give St. Bonna a 2-1, that's ridiculous.
