Re: Where are your ex-head coaches now?

In the early 70s there were rumors that the crosstowners wanted Sauers, and there may have been some other feelers. He didn't quite retire with his 702 wins until after coaching the women's golf team and occasionally doing referee evaluations. He finally retired in 2012 at age 82.

Scott Hicks went from Albany to coach four years at Loyola MD before going into sales.

Re: Where are your ex-head coaches now?

Bill Whitmore was a very successful high school AD at Concord HS in New Hampshire. Then he became the AD at Milton Academy for a couple of years before landing at Bedford. I believe he must have seen the Bonner brothers come thru Concord.

What about assistant coaches that have come and gone. in the early years at UVM in the mid to late 80's thru nineties to name a few:
Stan Van Gundy for a year
Jerry Burns-Castleton grad, highly successful coach at Monroe CC
Mike Reilly-Who the hell knows what happened to him
Tom Maryotte-CoachAD at Navy Prep. Became the Women's coach at Navy. Now works in some capacity for ESPN.
Mike Cordovano-recently retired Men's Basketball Coach Jamestown CC.
Dan Theiss-went on to Asst. Coach at Pitt
Mike Evelti-Burlington native, high school coach in Georgia
Jim Adams-Superintendent of Schools Ashland, MA

Re: Where are your ex-head coaches now?

Since UNH is the only school I haven't seen anyone talk about.

Phil Rowe - AD at Division III William Peace in North Carolina. Had been coaching at Endicott and been in administration a couple other places.

Jeff Jackson - was head coach at Furman, left in 2013, not sure what he's doing now.

Gib Chapman - vanished off the face of the earth

Jim Boylan - Cleveland Cavaliers assistant

I guess you can almost rationalize it for a school bringing in millions to support an entire athletic program. I personally wouldn’t support it. But at Binghamton? We have 5,000 seats and $10 a ticket. What are we doing here?”
