here is the trade they need....

About Steve smith....

he would be good if he doesnt demand much money and would like coming off the bench. I don't see him as a good starter. He is past his prime and the hawks need a good, athletic, decent sized two guard that can play D. HE has size but I don't think the defense would improve with him. He is an offensive minded player. They need a player with athleticism similar to newble.

Here are some of my ideal scenarios

The best trade for the hawks would be glenn robinson and JT for Lamar Odom and Corey Maggette....damn if they got that....and it looks equal but the hawks would have superior players that will contribute on defense which they need desperately

Trade Big Dawg and JT for some good players....anyone that can contribute and is a team player and is not looking for 20 shots a game like those two. I would run the offense through reef and other guards that they pick up. Reef has a good fg pct and a good free throw pct. You need someone with good field goal percentage because they will shoot the ball most of the time....JT is too low and Big Dawg is a beeeeotch.

Good pickups, if available, for cheap would be

Jeff Mcinnis
Fred Jones,
anyone from the clippers that is available, maybe Corey maggette....he would be a perfect two guard for this team...

IF they had this starting lineup they would be good

C-Ratliff
PF-AbdurRahim
F-odom
SG-Maggette
Pg-Dickau

They would be in the top 5 in the east with this lineup.

That lineup would suck just like the one we got now.

JT is not the guy to get rid of, the guy to get rid of is Shareef. I wish we could ship him off for maybe some cap relief and extra picks so we could draft Mario Austin this spring as our PF of the future. And trade JT for more draft picks.

Dickau
Glover
Big Dog
Henderson
Ratliff

Now here me out, that team would be bad enough to get a very high draft choice. Maybe Lebron and you would have plenty of cap room to go out and buy some good players. The Hawks would be best served by re-building all over and doing it RIGHT this time.
