If I were the Hawks, I'd consider Big Dog for George, Murray, Walker, Rush and your draft pick.
That's still a total steal for the Lakerss, but the Hawks at least get a couple young prospects (Rush and the Pick) and some cap room in the form of Murray and Walker's expiring contracts. If they're really gonna blow up this awful team, why not?

There is no way that is a steal for the lakers. Big Dog cant play defense. George is a good player who is underrated and I would rather have on the lakers then big dog. Then you throw in samaki, rush, and murray and a draft pick. That is a total steal for Atlanta! Big Dog is overrated. Remember how the first week he came out gunning and won player of the week. He has potential but he doesnt have any drive. He will never be good as a main scorer. The lakers could use him as a scorer9third or fourth option), but not for getting rid of george and the rest of those yahoos. George has the potential to be a good player in this league. If I was an owner I would never take Big dog on my team, unless he was playing for less than 1 million a year.

Big dog certainly has his flaws, but he's putting up 21 points and 7 boards a game. George is putting up 7 and 4. George isn't under-rated, he's a slug who's played poorly since getting a bigger paycheck.
On the Lakers, he wouldn't need to be the main scorer. But his ability would open up more opportunities for Shaq and Kobe, and their ability would open up things for him.

You are right that George has been playing poorly but he is also coming off an injury and this has to be factored in. BIg Dog would help thE lakers score but that is not there problem. They had lindsay hunter, isiah rider, and now tracy murray who can score but they did not help them win and that is there main problem. They need another defensive presence and some athleticism and Big Dog has none of that.
Its easier to put up Big Dog's numbers when you are the go to guy. Give George another year and if he was the go to guy on this same atlanta hawks team he would be a better contributor to this team. Sometimes numbers don't justify the value of a player. Nobody will take Big Dog if they are a serious championship team unless they are desperate. I don't think Sac, LA or Dallas would even look at him right now.

Heck ya I'd do it. Getting rid of Big Dog and the expiring contracts makes it a good deal for ATL.
