What do you think about Dickau?
Good backup PG?
NBDL here he comes?
Future PG?
Trade block?
Want to see what other fans feel about him.

....
Ideally he would be Steve Nash, most likely he will be Howard Eisley. Someone who after 3 years he is a somewhat veteran who can score, but really isn't loaded with talent.

Too soon to tell. His only hope is that his jump shot will develop. If it does, then he is a keeper.

i hate to say it
cuz i was a dickau fan in college
but this kid has a long way to go to be even a good backup..
hes slow.. and he is awful on defense yea he can hit the open shot.. but thats about it right now
he does have good vision though..
at least he has a hot wife - so the hawks should keep him

I think he could be good, there are a lot of guys who pan out over time, if we give up on JT we better hope he pans out

I was looking at Nash's first year stats and they are almost identical
3 pts
2 assists
10 minutes a game
Nash had a better FG pct from three as well as overall. Pretty darn close. That is a good sign. I agree with grizzo...he has good vision and he needs to develop the other parts of his game because he will have to play a mental game ala Nash and Stockton. If he turns out to be as good as Nash, it will definitely be worth the wait.

Was Nash slower earlier in his career? Nash is quick and has range on his J. Dickau is not quick and hasn't found his shot yet.

i think
that pgs mgith start oout looking slow, because the games moves so fast to them. But over time you get used to it and get in the flow.

I think he played behind Kidd for awhile as Phoenix Suns.
I havent seen many atlanta games. How does Dickau look as far as penetration in the lanes and handling the ball? From what I have seen early in the year(I havent seen an atlanta game since the first week of the season) he took his time dribbling up the court.
I think he is adjusting to the height and athleticism of the NBA players. The conference he played in during college didn't have any star players.
I want him to succeed, but I want to be realistic about his chances to become a solid NBA point.
I think his speed will hurt him because usually players his height have quickness and speed. I see him either becoming one of the top shooters in the league or eventually having a short career. I don't see an in between with him just because he has to be the best at shooting and passing because that is what he brings to the table to make up for his other weaknesses. I look at point guards who have his same traits and they have either become great or have had non impact careers.
Great/Good
John Stockton
Jeff Hornacek
Steve Nash
Mark Price
Non impact or short Career
Mike Penberthy
Brent Price
Cant think of other guys but sure there are some

I haven't seen him much, but I think he's just not a very good fit... he's too small and slow to play with Terry, so that screws everything up to start with
