Hawks keep Ivey, drop Donta

Code:
Hawks have excercised option for Ivey but no for Donta.

Well I guess someone has to go.

Re: Hawks keep Ivey, drop Donta

Man! I hate to give up on Donta so early. He played really well in the developmental league this past year, and I thought he played well when he filled in for a suspended Josh Childress. Hopefully he will catch on with another team.

There may be many people that don't like the idea of keeping Royal, but he brings one thing to the table that will keep him in the NBA. He is a good defensive player. I really like the pressure he puts on the ball handler, and I like his size. If he could play a lick of offense, he'd be an Eric Snow type of point guard, IMO. Unfortunately, he can't shoot, doesn't penetrate much, and isn't what I would call a shot creator.

Re: Hawks keep Ivey, drop Donta

Ivey is a good defender, and defense was the #1 reason Atlanta lost all those games. So I'm not surprised they are going to hang on to him. Donta looked promising at times, there just wasn't any room for him in Atlanta.
