5. Shelden Williams, F/C, Atlanta Hawks

Williams is probably the one player in this draft most prepared to contribute from day one. A senior who excels at rebounding and shot blocking, Williams will be able to provide both in large doses for a Hawks team currently built around slashers. Williams will likely have no aspirations to demand shots early on, and will be looked to to provide a presence in the paint that will open things up for explosive scorers like Harrington and Johnson. A lack of significant scoring should limit Williams' notoriety, but there is no reason he shouldn't average 12, 9 and 2 next season, numbers good enough to get him near the top of the ROY discussion.

I think Shelden will average in th 12pts 8=10 reb range and 2blks

Solomon is a good looking prospect, but I see him playing in the d-league to develop his offensive skill, but if he could come in and contribute the way Esteban does than I think it'll be a seccssful season for him.

I think Shelden will average around 12 PPG, 9 RPG, and 1.5 BPG on the year as a rookie. A lot of people want to discount what he might be able to do offensively, but I think they are underrated his offensive ability. Shelden has a big, strong body that will allow him to create space for himself. He's got a good drop step move in the post, can shoot the jump hook with either hand, and has a good up and under move. If he shows that he does have the jumper out to 15 feet, then he will put up better offensive numbers than many people believe. What really separates him from being a Carlos Boozer type offensively? The only thing that I believe separates them is that Shelden is a much better defender.
