Right now we basically traded Al for a draft pick and a trade exception... It failed or reached your expectations?
Now, I hope that we make some lateral moves...
Atlanta trade Childress, John Edwards and Salim to Phoenix;
Phoenix trade James Jones with draft rights to Milos Vujanic to GS, a 2nd rounder to Washington and Leandro Barbosa to Atlanta;
GS trade Chris Taft to Atlanta, the draft rights of Mladen Sekuralac to Suns and Zarko Cabarkapa to Washington;
Washington trade Jarvis Hayes to Atlanta;
Why?
Atlanta: Josh Childress may have his minutes decreased this season. Even with Al's departure, we may see both Zaza and Shelden playing together against bigger lineups, with Marvin playing the 3 or even Josh at 3 and Marvin playing the SG position (in offense, with Joe handling the point). Joe Johnson will eat the bigger part of the SG minutes. With the addition of Claxton, Salim maybe won't be getting much minutes also.
In Barbosa, we get a good combo guard that prove that can be very useful in a good team like Phoenix, and Hayes is a nice shooter and is from Georgia, isn't he?! And while John Edwards looks like he is just a big stiff, Chris Taft is a lot promising. I remember some sites projecting him as a 1st rounder. Can't see why he can't help this team. And with my brazilian "buddy" Barbosa in this team, maybe we'll have some articles writed in Portuguese, which is my local language!
Phoenix:
In Josh, get a more versatile combo player that can fits their offense, while getting a terrific replacement for Eddie House in Salim. John Edwards is another big body to sit in the end of their bench.
GS: They won't use Taft much, since they have a bunch of C's and PF's. Cabarkapa isn't also getting PT.
Washington: Get in Cabarkapa some versatility, and it seems like Hayes won't get much (if any) PT in their rotation. Adding a 2nd rounder can't hurt them also.
