Drew Gooden?
Should we consider signing him? He's not exactly a center, but he could replace Harrington's role as our post scorer.

Re: Drew Gooden?
I don't think the Cavs value him that much, that Josh would need to be in a deal. Varejeo is their best big man, not Gooden.

Re: Drew Gooden?
I believe Cavs fans value Gooden more than management does

Re: Drew Gooden?
Gooden and the Cavs seem to have wildly different views of his value.Gooden is a great rebounder, but beyond that he's just really erratic.Lots of times last year he would get benched for uninspired play. One game he's very good and the next he's awful.Mostly Cleveland is looking beyond next season when Varejao becomes a FA.They don't have any intention of overpaying Gooden if that means they lose Varejao after next year.Gooden's agents are trying to arrange an S&T,but I don't think that there's an enormous amount of interest so far.

Re: Drew Gooden?
I think Gooden wants as much money as Harington will make in Atlanta's S&T and they're both similar type of players so if Atlanta's not going to resign Harington then I would think they wouldn't bother with Gooden.

Don't forget to add in lots of on court mental errors / selfish play plus a huge entourage that turns teams off. There are a lot of non-stat sheet reasons why Gooden has been traded so many times in his young career.
IIRC, Orlando didn't want Drew anywhere close to Dwight during Dwight's development.

Diminished during his stay with the Cavs. Far more apparent with the Magic and the Grizzlies. Sure, at times Gooden looked lazy out there or made a boneheaded play, but he improved with the Cavs. I believe this is largely because he wasn't frequently posting up and when he did, he didn't attract many double teams (thanks to LeBron). Did a very solid job on the boards (as expected), but partially erased many stigmas around his game.

Re: Drew Gooden?
Gooden would only get in the way of Marvin Williams' development.
