Re: NBA power ranking

These people rate the ranking base on the performance of the previous season; so the Hawks won't get much respect unless they start winning some games in the upcoming season.

Re: NBA power ranking

Yeah, I think people are sleeping on the Hawks.

Part of the reason Atlanta got off to the bad start last year was Joe Johnson on a new team, and the impact of Jason Collier passing.

But getting rid of Al Harrington is addition by subraction, and Claxton should allow for Joe to be more effective. Plus, you have Josh/Marvin growing & developing.

Don't forget Shelden, he's going to have an imapct as well.

if the hawks could get a good center they would be a playoff team

They just picked up Wright from Memphis. I still dont know what starting lineup will the Hawks use this season. They have alot of depth now at the 3/4 positions. Im thinking a line up of----

PG-Speedy Claxton/Tyrone Lue
SG-Joe Johnson/Salim Stoudamire
SF-Josh Smith/Josh Childress
PF-Marvin Williams/Shelden Williams
C-L.Wright/Zaza Pachulia

Looks solid to me, Hawks can be one of the suprises of the 2006/2007 season.

Re: NBA power ranking

I think most of the bottom ten ranked teams are interchangable. All of them could go either way really.
