I would love to have Minnesota's first round pick, because you can practically guarantee that they will be in the lottery or lose in the first round. So, it won't be a very late pick.

Would you really be willing to take on Hudsons contract for a first you'll get as early as 09? Due to the fact the Wolves can't trade consecutive picks and the Clippers own their 07 pick.

Yeah, the Indiana deal'd be better. What exactly can you use a trade exception for?
I understand it acts as a player in trades for salary purposes.
Can you sign someone to it though?
And how would that work cap-wise?

I could imagine it being used in a similar situation next year (a FA wants out, team can't afford to keep him, trade him to the Hawks for TE)
