Will Joe make the allstar team this season?
I think he will, but it all depends on the hawks, if they have a decent record and he's playing well I think he'll defintly make it. With him playing in the World Championship he starting to get some attention from the coaches and media and that's just going to make his chances of making the all star team much better.
BTW: how do y'all like my new avatar?

Re: Will Joe make the allstar team this season?
I think he might. Definately.
Last year, he seemed to get off to a slow start. His TO's were up and scoring was down as he was getting used to new teammates, but later in the year, he got more comfortable and quietly put up some monster performances. So I think he will keep that up. He seems like the kind of player a coach would vote for, too.
Congrat's on your SM.

Re: Will Joe make the allstar team this season?
Im not sure, it really depends how the hawks do this season. It is very hard to make the all-star team as a guard. If michael redd and jason kidd couldnt make it as well as many others i dont think JJ will make the all-star team this year.

Definitely not. Team record will keep him from being an All-Star.

Chan waves back. It's a slim chance, a chance that I dismiss as 'definitely not'.

There was more better available guards than forwards.
JJ has some tough competition but I voted yes because I think he play like an all-star.

Re: Will Joe make the allstar team this season?
If he was in the West you could argue that he will, but it would be really hard in the East because of the number of great guards and the guards with the big reputations. You have AI,Arenas,Paul Pierce,Dwyane Wade,Chauncey Billups,Vince Carter,Michael Redd,Jason Kidd and Rip Hamilton. All of them are going to get as much or more consideration if you figured all of them and Johnson had the same production as last year.If you look out West there aren't as many quality guards(Kobe,Nash,Ray Allen and Chris Paul would get more consideration, but noone else IMO)
First he'd have to be even better than he was last year and then Hawks would have to look like they were really improved at the All Star break, then you have to have some of those other guys look as though they have worse cases.Guys like AI,Arenas,Carter and Kidd will go because people will vote for them whether they deserve it or not so that puts you on the fringe right there.

Re: Will Joe make the allstar team this season?
He is an all-star talent, but because he plays on the Hawks no one can really get the courage to vote for him. If he plays in thw WC like he has in the scrimmages before hand he should be an all-star next season.

Re: Will Joe make the allstar team this season?
Votes don't matter, because it's the coaches who vote for the AS reserves.
And I think Joe Johnson is >/= Michael Redd, Rip Hamilton. And it's pretty much a given, that he'll better his numbers from last season.
It's going to be tough for him to make it, but I think he's more than capable of. Might get some extra votes from the coaches, because he plays the game "the right way" and hasn't made the ASG yet.
