LOL .... he does it again
Chad ford bashes the hawks again

Atlanta Hawks
What is Billy Knight doing?
That's been a key question in the NBA for the past several summers.
An ownership feud lies at the heart of much of the Hawks' inability to get things done this summer, but even that has to be contextualized. The feud began, in large part, over the performance of Knight. Steve Belkin thought Knight was killing the franchise and disagreed vehemently over giving up so many assets for the right to give Joe Johnson a max deal. The rest of the Hawks' owners disagreed, and a year later, they're still in court shouting it out.
In the meantime, the Hawks' hands have basically been tied. (Were Johnson and Knight really worth all of this?)
The drafting of Shelden Williams signaled that the Hawks were serious about getting a player who could help them now. But after watching Williams' miserable performance in the summer league, there are now serious questions about how NBA-ready he really is.
They did throw a lot of money this summer at Speedy Claxton (a diminutive, oft-injured scoring guard in a point guard's body) and plan on giving Lorenzen Wright (a 30-year-old center who averaged five points and five rebounds last season) a two-year deal when they trade Harrington. Neither move will push them far out of the basement of the East.
Yes, expected improvements by Josh Smith, Josh Childress and Marvin Williams should help, but all of that will be offset by losing Harrington, the team's second-leading scorer and only real inside presence.
Maybe next year, when their ownership question is answered, the Hawks will finally be able to rise out of the rubble. But this year? Pray for Oden.

This guy looks for every little thing to bash the Hawks, now he's saying we overpayed Speedy, WHAT AN IDIOT!!!
The whole article

Re: LOL .... he does it again
He talks about Speedy when he should be talking about Nene, no team overpaid as much as the Nuggs did for a 3 minute man

He says pray for Oden, but if Oden did wind up in Atlanta.. dude would still find some negative crap to play up. It's bull**** journalism.
Why not even mention how Josh Smith is bulking up for a monster season, or how Marvin dominated the folks in Utah? I've come to expect no less from ESPN.

Eh, when the Hawks improve from last year, people will shut up, and pick on someone else.

Ya he bashes Atlanta alot but honestly how can you not, the team has had alot of time to turn around and atleast make the playoffs, every year they are a joke. Every Year its "we have a bright young future" and the last time Atlanta had a playoff worthy team (reef, terry, big dog, theo) it was horrifying to watch, anyways, its good you guys are loyal, but the hawks really have to do something (like the clippers did) to avoid being the same old laughing stock of the NBA.

I guess you belong in the group that was bashing Denver because they sucked royally couple of season ago and was sure that they will be the laughing stock year in year out. same with Chicago.
What do you suggest that we should do?

It's not as much ESPN as it is Chad Ford. Chad has a personal vendetta against Billy Knight. He will even admit that Marvin Williams was his #1 rated player in the 2005 draft, yet he claims Atlanta made the wrong move in taking the #1 player on the board. That should tell you all you need to know.
