1st Playoff Game Review Discussion
Just wondering what all you Hawks thought about your first round matchup with the Celtics and how you coped on Sunday? I didn't get to see the game as it was the late game which means it started around 4.30am here .... After reading through a few papers and sites it seems you were clearly out of your depth playing Boston, was this just the hype machine working for Boston or were you really not in contention?
Which players played well for you? How was Woodson on his decision making?

Re: 1st Playoff Game Review Discussion
Of what I saw, Horford was the only player that showed up ready to play.
Josh Smith only played 20 something minutes after early foul trouble. Joe Johnson & Mike Bibby were not knocking down their shots.
Atlanta has been a bad road team all year, and I don't expect Atlanta to win this series, but I was disappointed with their effort in Game 1. Boston would have looked just as dominant against Indiana or New Jersey, IMO. I think this series is just about getting the young guys experience in a playoff atmosphere for the future.

And I can't help but think that Atlanta-Orlando or Atlanta-Cleveland would be a pretty entertaining series. I think if they had a different coach, they might have a chance of reaching a higher seed.

Re: 1st Playoff Game Review Discussion
You think Josh Smith's early foul trouble was due to over eagerness?
Bibby + Johnson not hittin there shots is weird. You think you could snatch even a game?
I agree with that Atl-Cav series would have been awesome

Re: 1st Playoff Game Review Discussion
I think they could win one of their home games, but they have to play a lot better.

Re: 1st Playoff Game Review Discussion
Horford really is exceptional, you guys have done an amazing job of drafting in recent years (although you have had pretty tasty picks
Good luck I hope you manage to atleast make the Celtics work for there safe passage into round2.

Re: 1st Playoff Game Review Discussion
Bibby and Johnson need to hit their shots. They had a lot of open looks that just didn't go in. Bibby was completely outplayed by Rajon Rondo, and Bibby's the one with all the experience in that match-up. Horford looked like the only one that came to play. They had a nice little run in the 2nd quarter to get back within two points, but then the Celtics just went on a big run and the Hawks never recovered.

Re: 1st Playoff Game Review Discussion
It was to be expected. Young teams usually dont adjust to playoff intensity until the second or third game. I have heard many players say that on numerous occassions. I guess this is where an experienced coach would be beneficial

Re: 1st Playoff Game Review Discussion
What do people think about Fratello? Listening to him last night talk about the 80's Hawks make me wonder if he would accept the HC job if it was offered.
