Trade Idea?
A deal consisting of Hinrich, Deng and Gooden for Bibby and Horford basically works contractually- any chance the Hawks would bite on this? You get a long-term solution at PG, a more traditional (and frankly better) SF with Deng and dont lose any immediate production with Gooden instead of Horford. Your team is puzzling to me- JJ is a stud and i obviously like Horford's potential, but Josh Smith to me would have much more value as a trading asset than as an actual long-term SF solution for this team. Yall should trade him to a veteran team looking to get more athletic- someone along the lines of detroit, san antonio, phx, dallas, etc. although i honestly havent given too much thought to that
what do you think?

Re: Trade Idea?
Ehhh.. I think I will pass.
Pairing Josh Smith with Luol Deng at the two forward spots really puts us where we were before Horford was drafted, which is without a true back to the basket player. I really like Al a lot. I don't have a good handling of his ceiling, but he has a true PF body and strong work ethic. I think he can become very good.
Hinrich is probably an upgrade over Bibby, I just don't think I would part with Horford for a small forward.

Re: Trade Idea?
I hear what you're saying but Gooden is only 26- he's 6'10 and a legitimate Pf in his own right (albeit not with as high a ceiling as Horford). Also, the purpose of this move would not be to pair Deng with Smith- it would be to make Smith expendable. I really think yall need to lose him while his value is still high.

Re: Trade Idea?
The only knock I have on Josh Smith is that he isn't really a small forward and he isn't really a power forward, but he's still a really good player to have. I don't think I would look to move him unless the offer was too good to pass up. I'm not sure this is that kind of deal. Deng is a good player, though.

I don't see how trading your two best young players after finally making the postseason makes sense. I would like a Smith for Deng deal, I think that would help both teams.

Re: Trade Idea?
i don't see why the hawks should trade horford. horford is the real deal. he should be one of the most untouchable pieces on this team.
bibby is not a bad player either. what's hinrich got over bibby other than youth? it's not really much of an upgrade there, though i suppose hinrich is a much better defender.

There's no chance the bulls do that, since Bibby would take minutes away from Rose. And they can get ALOT more for Hinrich AND deng.
