Re: Josh Smith on the block for cap relief and/or draft picks

conley sucks... he semibroke out during his rookie season too(last 15 games maybe) and people were expecting good things from him his sophmore year, yet he sucked again until the final 15 games of his sophmore season. unless you plan on your future pg playing 15 good games at the end of every season i don't see why you'd want conley.

Wasn't Conely injured for most of his rookie year? And it wasn't just 15 games this year, he was great the entire second half of the season.

This way, the Hawks don't need to re-sign Bibby. Hinrich probably fits them better anyway, since he's a fairly quicker player and a better defender.

After retaining Marvin Williams, I would suggest using the remaining cap space to sign Shawn Marion, who I think would be the ideal PF for this Hawks team. He's as versatile a defender as Smith and a better outside shooter.

PG: Kirk Hinrich...Acie Law
SG: Joe Johnson...Maurice Evans
SF: Marvin Williams...Tim Thomas
PF: Shawn Marion
C: Al Horford

+19th pick
+26th pick
That actually does make some sense. Hinrich's a lot less trigger happy than Bibby, and he would be able to involve Marvin/Horford in the offense more. And it works out great for Chicago too, so I'd be cool with it.

If we trade Smith for Conley my reaction will be similar to this

Replace the 26th pick with the 16th, and it may turn into a pretty good idea, although I don't think that Marion is the right name to our team. I would rather trade for a young promising big, like Brandan Wright, or try to sign Charlie Villanueva or David Lee. If both fails, try Chris Wilcox for a similar salary that we actually pay to Pachulia (who should get a salary raise).
