Re: 2008 WH Predictions Pace
Air Force lost at Wake Forest today.
On a related note, Illinois lost at home to Tennessee State. This is not good for the B10. If the A10 could "overachieve" by maybe as little as just one (maybe two) game(s) winding down the OOC it could very possibly overtake the B10 for 6th, and position itself for 5 bids.

No way.
The Big Ten has a winning percentage over 0.700 - as a bunch of .700+ teams play each other a hundred or so times in conference, their RPIs will creep upward. The A10 has a winning percentage over 0.600 - as a bunch of .600+ teams play each other a hundred or so times in conference, our RPIs will also creep upward ... but not as much.
I think we would need to win a dozen (or two) additional games and the Big Ten would have to lose a dozen (or two) additional games in order to catch up. Not gonna happen.
Our best bet is to try to grab 7th place - we need to win our games while rooting against the Mountain West.

Your correct of course... Consider though, that after two losses today the B10 win % is just 64.5, and the A10 is 62.8%, so the gap isn't that wide. Also, it matters where the game is played - it's not a pure win % application I don't believe - and Illinois losing on it's home court is particularly damaging.
Another consideration is that the B10 OOC SOS is stronger, but the A10's OOC SOS is projected to surpass it by year end.

I see a record of 91-38 for the Big Ten...so 91-40 w/ today's losses:
91/131 = .695
There's not enough time left to realistically catch up to that, with the A10 at 62.8%

I must have read what is really a 9 as a 4. Ignore my ramblings.

Re: 2008 WH Predictions Pace
This thread is UNREAL. Survivor, your effort is overwhelming, and thanks. WH, your predictions are unconscious. Even better than usual.
(One minor request: if anyone does this or something similar again in the future, please don't use red and green. I can't tell the two apart, and as 7% of males share my petty affliction, others may be in the same boat. Yes I can tell red lights from green, so you don't have to watch out for me on the roads )

Re: 2008 WH Predictions Pace
It's hard to believe that we're almost done with noncon play; there are actually 5 potential turnover games in that slate - UMass at home against Houston, Xavier against UVa and a depleted Auburn team, Charlotte at home against Maryland, and St. Joe's against Villanova.
Conversely, I can't see Penn losing to all 3 A-10 teams at this point, either.

Re: 2008 WH Predictions Pace
We're now on a 3 game streak of winning games we were picked to lose for only the second time this year. Would be sweet if we sweep tomorrow and make it 4.

"Conversely, I can't see Penn losing to all 3 A-10 teams at this point, either."
Did you see Penn's performance down in Florida? especially against Fla Gulf Coast.
