Re: Stan Says A-10 teams "pathetic"
Wow what a whiney biotch this kid needs to learn his place before dionte drops another 24 on him. Everyone knows that Xavier is overrated. This team will get bounced in the second round of the NCAAs and he will have something else to cry about.

Sorry X fans, but I hope X trips and falls big in the tourney, given that montage.

As long as you mean the conference tourney and not the NCAA, I wont take offense.

Re: Stan Says A-10 teams "pathetic"
He thinks he is leading. I would be embarassed if I was one of his teammates. Xaviers other players are very talented, but don't distort reality that much Stan. I'm sure that none of his teammates want to come out and contradict him, but I hope they all don't believe that they are all A10 team worthy. Imagine if you were in their position, and now the media comes asking if you think you should take the place of Brian Roberts, Bryant Dunston, Darnell Harris, etc. Stanley is hanging his teammates out to answer for his bizarre rantings.
Anyone else tired of hearing his mouth? Has he now locked up the all-time whiner award too?

Hmmm, forgot to specify that. Yes, conference tourney. I will pull for them in the Big Dance just like last year screaming at my TV as the officials decided to pick the winner.

Re: Stan Says A-10 teams "pathetic"
Hammer has made a strategic mistake...X may win the A10 tourney but they'll likely have a few bumps and bruises to go along with the hardware. It's already a tough task winning daily but now Hammer calls out the whole league...X will expend a lot of energy this weekend.

Re: Stan Says A-10 teams "pathetic"
Is Stan really the leader of x? I mean who with half a brain will rally around the cry that X got disrespected by the A-10 team selections?

HAHA I am just thinking about what would happen if UD makes it to the 2nd round and beats xavier. This guy would never live that down laying an egg in the first round.

Let's try to think about things that are believable.

Re: Stan Says A-10 teams "pathetic"
Never has so much been heard from such an inconsequential player.
Personally, I'm going to stop defending Burrell's comments. He's too far out there now.

OT: Is lavendor going to be ready to go on thursday...Im sure they will say he is close to 100% but does anyone believe that. Maybe he knows lavendor is hurting bad and is trying to fire up the troops.

Re: Stan Says A-10 teams "pathetic"
He stood up for his team mates. You guys need live's if you are actually offended by it. Who doesn't think BJ or CJ or even DBrown wouldn't have far greater #'s if they were playing on another team. I agree that he stumbled by mentioning the other players but if that is what Dunston or whomever needs to get motivated then I feel sorry for them.
Stan speaks his mind and leads. I have no problem with it.

Per Dow's blog -- Lavender has been practicing and will play thursday. Close to 100%? Who knows, but after watching him the past 2 weeks, I find that highly unlikely. More like 75%.
He and Miller reportedly also sat down and had a "heart to heart" to clear the air. Supposedly, they are both on the same page now.

Re: Stan Says A-10 teams "pathetic"
this thread is ridiculous in many ways and promises to quickly devolve into an X/UD whining/taunting thread so keep some perspective. Burrell knows all 5 X guys can't be first team. Otherwise Brian Davis would have been first team all America next to Christian Laettner every year. Also, the fact that Duncan was the best player on the best team does not make him the POY. Burrell must recognize that other guys did as much or more with less support. Sticking up for his teammates is admirable
However, his comments are obviously intended toward the league office with the exception of a couple of name-drops. And those name drops were wrong, those guys were deserving as much as guys who may have sacrificed for the good of a team. He should know that those sacrifices were for the team and thus individual rewards are similarly sacrificed.
However, I hope this means that Stan decides he will have to drop 40 on everyone in AC and shoots X right out of the quarters.
