trying to figure what Stan knows is kinda out there.
Running your mouth to your opponents all in need of a title to gain entrance to their life long dreams is pretty much off the charts territory.
X a team to gun for sure but now Hammer has gone personal on a couple of guys and called the whoile league pathetic. It's 1 thing for me to say the A10 sucks but quite another for Hammer on the eve of defending a title. I don't know the makeups of Harris and Dunston...Roberts will blow it off in a non chalant fashion. I'd be surprised if X players don't have the fight of the life on their hands 3 straight nights and if Lavender is 100% X won't win the crown.

Re: Stan Says A-10 teams "pathetic"
I've stayed out of these discussions about Burrell, because they were not really any of my business or that important to me. But this tirade about the A-10 and other A-10 players is end of the line. Stanley Burrell is a grandstander, always has been since his first year at X.This tirade is just another grandstand play by him, nothing else. He can't even avoid grandstanding when he himself is honored. The arrogance and cockiness he has shown, chest-thumping,embarrassing opponents, could fill a highlight reel if there was a grandstanding highlight category. I don't care what the X fans say about this post. This kid is cocky and arrogant. Who in the hell does he think he is to make such statements. Maybe he is just immature. If so, then I can give him little bit of a pass until he grows up. But if he is immature enough to make these kinds of comments, he's certainly a late bloomer. It is not my intention to offend anybody here, specifically X fans and SB supporters. But don't you think this was a little over the top and smelling badly like a bad case of immaturity? Would I want him on my team? Yes!! But he would be an embarrassment to my team and my school. Is any X fan embarrassed? Sorry, I had to say how I felt when I read this.

also, X better get some extra motivation from this because there are now 11 teams with those quotes up on the locker room wall.

Re: Stan Says A-10 teams "pathetic"
I declare "Open Season" on Stanley Burrell for the entire league. Where did "The Goon" go? We could really use Chaney in a situation like this.

This time it was Xavier, the No. 3 seed with an attitude, that got Bruin-ized, 76-57. XU was so intense that when a flag-waving, UCLA cheerleader planted himself at halfcourt during the pregame warm-ups, Musketeers senior guard Stanley Burrell told him to get off the floor. When the cheerleader didn't budge, Burrell gave him a baby forearm shiver.
"He was cursing me," the cheerleader said. "Most disrespectful thing I've ever seen. But no big deal."

Say what you want to about Chaney, but none of his PLAYERS ever came out and **** on the rest of the league like Stanley Burrell just did.
If Stanley Burrell is such a "team player", why is he apparently so obsessed over individual recognitions?

Re: Stan Says A-10 teams "pathetic"
I actually kind of dig the outrage. Jimmy, as a Xavier fan I am not embarrassed.
I do think he was trying to motivate the team. We haven't been playing as we have been earlier, and Lavender is still a big question mark. As far as making teams motivated to play us, I doubt teams could get more motivated to play us. Stanley Burrell could have argued for BRob to win the POY and UD would still want to beat us with everything they have.
Every team in this tournament has all the motivation they need. I don't expect any team to give any other a free pass. It is backs against the wall and winner take all.
Bring on the madness.
