It's this man's decision as to how many minutes David Gibbs gets his freshman season.
I have no control over what role or playing time David Gibbs will see his freshman year at UMass. I make my assesments based on talent level. I've seen the nation's best prospects at AAU camps. I was highly impressed with Gibbs at the Tournament of Champions in Chapel Hill, NC (2007). "Gibbs played
out of his mind against a lot of big names who couldn't match his level of play."(Harrington)
Gibbs played so well that many folks watching him suggested that he'd surely reconsider that pledge. Gibbs politely said he was headed to UMass.
Given the opportunity he will make an immediate contribution. Gibbs versatility will have him playing some PG, SG, & SF.
Scouts like Gibbs raw talent. A legit 6-3, he is tremendously quick and athletic, able to blow by defenders three and four inches shorter. He also is a creative and talented playmaker, whipping passes off the dribble and changing speeds to keep the defense off-balance.
If there is one thing I know.... its scouting talent. Gibbs has lots of it.
