Re: Xavier recruiting
Our players transfer because they are not equipped to garner playing time at a program as high a caliber as X.
Daytons players like staten transfer because they realize Dayton is not going anywhere worth going. |

Xavier’s players transfer out of the Atlantic 10 simply because they are not Atlantic 10-calibre players to begin with. Quote:
Walsh Transfers to Akron (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - August 11, 2010) Brian Walsh played in only 21 of 35 games, averaging 4.7 minutes and 0.9 points. Former Oak Ridge Standout Jay Canty Transferring to Appalachian State (Greensboro News-Record - May 10, 2011) The 6-foot-6, 203-pound Jamestown native appeared in 17 games as a freshman for the Musketeers, averaging 1.5 points and 0.8 rebounds in 7.4 minutes per game. Jordan Latham Talks Loyola Commitment (The Baltimore Sun - May 19, 2011) Jordan Latham, who committed to the Greyhounds on Monday night, averaged just 4.8 minutes and scored eight points in his lone season at Xavier. Ex-Moeller Star McKenzie Leaving Xavier (Shannon Russell, Cincinnati Enquirer - April 3, 2012) McKenzie played sparingly, averaging 2.3 minutes in 11 contests. The Moeller graduate scored two points on 1-for-6 shooting and grabbed five rebounds this season. He remained on the bench in 16 of the last 18 games. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the other hand, Trent Meacham ==> Illinois (Big 10) Juwan Staten ==> West Virginia (Big East) LaDontae Henton ==> Providence (Big East) Percy Gibson ==> Iowa State (Big 12) I don’t know where Griffin McKenzie will end up, but by all accounts, he is an excellent student and a good kid from a good family. I wish him the very best of luck in his final two years of college basketball, whether that be at Northern Kentucky University or a lesser Division I school. Quote:

Re: Xavier recruiting
I'm pretty sure Henton and Gibson were de-commits, not transfers. But why would you want to compare players you lost to BCS programs, to players another school lost to lesser competition? That doesn't say a lot about your school.

Re: Xavier recruiting
Is it not concerning to be losing your most talented players, on a regular basis, as Muddy's trend of Dayton transfers points to?
I am glad to see the Xavier transfers leaving, if they are not able to contribute. Trimming of the fat...However, losing your most talented players (potential all-league players) well before graduation can't be a positive sign.

Re: Xavier recruiting
[QUOTE=Flyer75;6804528]Quit putting your foot in your mouth like you always do. In the same year that you guys recruited Martin, ect, (a Top 20 class) our class that year with Staten, Spearman, Hill, Oliver and Berry was at one point ranked 14th by Rivals. It ended up just outside the Top 25 when Berry was dropped and others committed elsewhere. QUOTE]
Wait a minute. How come Muddy isn't posting link after link about how good that Dayton class was supposed to be? |

Re: Xavier recruiting
It seems that Muddy doesn't know the difference between decommits and transfers. If we're talking decommits ala Henton and Gibson, then that puts DSR into the discussion and pretty much blows his little experiment to pieces...as DSR is heading to Georgetown.

Re: Xavier recruiting
That's pretty good. I remember X being on him before allot of the big boys were but wasn't he like 6'7" or 6'8" when you guys were recruiting him and he grew another 2-3" after that??? Hard to compete with the UK's and UNC's in recruiting, even for X.

This time it was Xavier, the No. 3 seed with an attitude, that got Bruin-ized, 76-57. XU was so intense that when a flag-waving, UCLA cheerleader planted himself at halfcourt during the pregame warm-ups, Musketeers senior guard Stanley Burrell told him to get off the floor. When the cheerleader didn't budge, Burrell gave him a baby forearm shiver. "He was cursing me," the cheerleader said. "Most disrespectful thing I've ever seen. But no big deal." |

Re: Xavier recruiting
Much better than to do that than to lose to Iowa in the NIT. Also much better than to lose to College of Charleston in the NIT. Also better than losing to Buffalo, at home, by 29 points.
