Re: Xavier recruiting
Exactly my point...you poke fun, and then can't believe they respond with a post about Xavier. It would be a better place if you just post about the rankings without pointing the sarcasm towards the Dayton loonies.

Re: Xavier recruiting
Oh believe me they'll respond whether I poke fun or not. 5 years around here it gets pretty engrained. It won't be a better place until they're gone. This is prime season for them or at least until something happens at X.

Re: Xavier recruiting
Yesterday, conflicting information about Ron Patterson's situation was published by two Rivals.com writers : Wednesday Recruiting Blitz: 8/15 (Alex Kline, TheRecruitScoop.com - August 15, 2012) Ron Patterson Leaving Indiana, Next Stop Xavier ? (Corey Albertson, MusketeerScoop.com - August 15, 2012) 3-Star, SG # 30 Ron Patterson (Rivals.com Class of 2012 profile) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- However, this commitment won't help Xavier land Patterson: 5-Star, SG # 1 Chris Thomas (Rivals.com Class of 2013 profile)

Re: Xavier recruiting
X recruiting aside, what kind of school OVER recruits in numbers? What a crappy way to treat a kid who committed to your school.
So was this kid qualified or not...I've heard conflicting accounts. If he wasn't actually qualified for IU and that's why he left, I'd be real curious how he'd be qualified for a private institution like X... |

Flyer
It happens all the time. Sometimes kids are told to go to prep school. Often the hope is that someone will tranfer out. Jeff Robinson was the same at purdue. They over recruited and no room so they made something up.

Re: Xavier recruiting
Ron Patterson would help a lot of teams. The way I heard it is he had to do a certain GPA in summer school and he didn't, so they gave him the boot just in time for the start of classes Monday. (had to be @ 13 schollies) His grades and tests from hs were ok, and he graduated, so should not have had a problem with NCAA. He could have done poorly in summer school and started the next session on probation, just like any place else. Crean oversigned and had to move somebody. He has 4 other players who barely qualified like Ron.

Re: Xavier recruiting
He is qualified to play. The grade excuse is BS, they were over the scholarship limit and he was odd man out. Coincidence that they were over the 13 limit and he was the lowest rated recruit? I think not. I dont know much about Hanner Parea who is one of their top recruits but he is from Colombia, but I would imagine his transcripts arent 100% clean. If Patterson could help IU he would still be on the team regardless of a summer school grade issue.
