Wells Canty Latham Griff Walsh Chandler Thomas Davis (ineligible) Reynolds (ineligible) Cantino?? And thus far it seems like Taylor ánd Robinson have been disappointments (I think both will be decent this year). I might be missing someone....who knows. THIS season and moving forward will tell us how good of a recruiter Mack has been. Last edited by Flyer75; 11-05-2012 at 06:52 AM. |

Re: Xavier recruiting
Cmon 75, are you really going to pin Wells being forced out on Mack? Even M Davis being ineligible is tough to place on him. Kids taking the EXACT same classes the year before are eligible but the NCAA changed its' ruling and Davis was caught in the middle of it. Until a recruit shows up on campus I wouldn't consider them committed so I would take Chandler, Thomas, and you forgot DSR off the list. Walsh wasn't a Mack recruit. That basically leaves Canty, Latham, and Griff. Canty got homesick. Latham and Griff didn't pan out. The future is looking fine with young talent. With Reynolds, Davis, Stainbrook eligible next year, the talent level will again be where it has for the last however many years. There are still kids left for 2013 and 2014 has some very high level talent looking at Xavier. Let it play out. You seem to forget that Miller's first 3 years were a missed NCAA, first round loss, and 1 NCAA win. Not exactly up to Xavier standards but he quickly got the ship rolling again. If Mack misses this year on the NCAA's it isn't gonna change the national perception of his recruiting abilities or even coaching abilities.

Re: Xavier recruiting
And Xavier is on the board. Welcome to the Muskies Kamall. He chose Xavier over St. Joes and Seton Hall.

Re: Xavier recruiting
I love the Kamall Richards pickup. Plays tough and seems to really want to not only improve his game but do whatever the team wants or needs him to do. He will slide in perfectly with the other guys that will be returning/bringing in next year.
The good news could keep coming from what I have heard. 4-star Brandon Randolph will be visiting from Cali for the FDU game on Friday and there is a solid 2014 recruit that I know progress has been made on lately. |

Re: Xavier recruiting
Congratulations to Xavier on a surprisingly good commitment from one of the best HS basketball teams in the country. 3-Star SF Kamall Richards (Rivals.com HS Class of 2013 Profile) Musketeers Get Kamall Richards (Alex Kline, Rivals.com - November 6, 2012) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- St. Benedict's Boys Basketball 2011-2012 Stats (NJ.com) Kamall finished 4th in scoring on his team (11.7 PPG) during his senior year of HS. Kamall Richards' 2011-2012 Stats and Game Log (NJ.com) Downside: 3 assists, 4 steals, and 29 made 3-pointers in 29 games.

Re: Xavier recruiting
I think I like his coaches comments best of all
"A native of Henryville, Pa., Richards blew up on the summer circuit, playing well at the Reebok Breakout Challenge and the “Live in AC” event. He transferred to South Kent after playing at St. Benedict’s Prep and now has a year to refine his game at the Connecticut prep school. “Kamall’s work ethic and desire to get better have put him in the position to attend one of the most successful programs in the country,” South Kent coach Kelvin Jefferson said. “Kamall has all the tools needed to play at the highest level. His combination of strength and toughness, combined with his ability to score and his hatred of losing gives him everything he needs to help Xavier continue to be a dominant force in the Atlantic 10.” Richards is also working on bringing another teammate to Xavier. Uncommitted point guard Shane Rector, formerly of St. Raymond’s of The Bronx, could be next. Xavier recently offered Rector, who also has interest from Providence, South Carolina, Arkansas and Arizona State. “I’m trying to get my point guard, Shane Rector, to come out,” Richards said. “He’s a real good point guard. We could definitely use him.” |

Re: Xavier recruiting
BTW, Kamall Richards will play his post-graduate season at South Kent, which has a reputation for generating academic non-qualifiers. Mark Lyons has Big Year at South Kent (Brian Snow, MusketeerScoop.com - February 27, 2007) Quote:
Quote:
Philly Hoop Group Jam Fest Recruiting Rundown (Alex Kline, Special to ZAGSBLOG - April 30, 2012) There were very few available 2012s but of the ones playing this weekend, a trio from ECE/NJABC out of Delaware drew attention from dozens of college coaches. Unsigned seniors Jerome Frink – a forward from St. Anthony (NJ), Andre Horne – a shooting guard from Newark (DE), and Kamall Richards – a forward from St. Benedict’s (NJ) – all had strong weekends with big decisions coming up. 2012 Hoop Group Philly Jam Fest (Blue Star Media - May, 2012) Kamall Richards, a 6-6, 200-pound wing from St. Benedict’s in Newark, N.J., said he will reclassify to the Class of 2013.

Re: Xavier recruiting
FWIW
The following comes from one of the administrators of Seto Hall's board on Rivals. He is wired into the program. Whether the observation he cites is true only time will tell. Halldan1 Re: News On SH Recruiting Targets. Reply The info that SHU did not set up a visit was posted before any word came out about his decision. And in truth I knew about it sooner than I posted it, but waited until my source gave me permission to go with it. BTW, NJ4Life, a Trove poster, HS and AAU coach and someone who is very familiar with the NJ scene commented on our board that in his opinion Richards is not a Big East player. |

And for the record he DID have a trip set up to Seton Hall. He had to cancel the first one because of some little storm named Sandy. He might have not rescheduled yet (so yes the guy could have gotten off on a technicality that no trip was scheduled), but he absolutely 100% guaranteed had a trip set up. |
