Old muddie doesn't seem to realize that Xavier's RPI and win totals seems to go in an oscillating fashion. In the 3 years prior to this:

Xavier was

2004-05 - Sean Miller - 17 wins / RPI Rank # 131

2005-06 - Sean Miller - 21 wins / RPI Rank # 76

2006-07 - Sean Miller - 24 wins / RPI Rank # 32

This is a prime example of Muddy at best revising history and at worst just pure ignorance.

If anything, you have that post totally backwards. Matta and Miller were never especially known for bringing in the big-name, "highly-touted" 4 and 5 star recruits. There were more known for bringing in decent, sometimes off-the-radar recruits and really developing them into great players.

If anything, Mack is going after the more high-profile, highly-touted recruits (and he can do that because of the national success of Xavier's program). UD fans can argue about whether he is developing them when they get to campus.

Xavier always goes to the NCAA tournament, and almost always makes some noise while there. Projecting anything less than that this season feels like folly.

EC Matthews the only other A10 recruit in the Top 100. Swift next year is another Top 100 kid. W/O the Dez fiasco X would've probably had at least 3 100 kids this year.
