Re: Xavier recruiting
Please don't quote any of the loser cryer quintet (Squid, Muddy, Stealth, Dunkie, and Dupree). It only makes them think that someone besides their own warped little circle pays any attention to them. the "ignore' option is what I recommend.

Re: Xavier recruiting
Work his way up from what? Yes, he is going to be fine and the recruiting isn't going to drop off at all. The best years are still ahead and it seems the national media agrees.

Re: Xavier recruiting
i think mack needs derrick brown more than brown needs XU right now. this may be the tipping point if he elects to keep his name in the draft. Brown has done just about everything he needs in college. Getting his degree for one. Derrick isnt really the type of player who is going to "take over" and go for 25-30pts 2-3 times a month. Part of it is hes never been asked to do that, but hes more of a cerebral player in a collection of other quality players. I just dont see him going apesh!t next year and putting down monster numbers to the point where he jumps 5-10 spots in the draft. The 09 class is weaker than the 10 as well. Guys in the lottery or thought of as pretty much first round locks are kids who, when they turn the switch, can take over and be totally dominant like a man among boys. Brown is a great player, but im not sure hes the kind of great player that will make that sizeable leap to that next level of draft prospect like a David West or Brian Grant. Two guys who, as Muskie SuperFan Mike Damone would say, "had the attitude."

Re: Xavier recruiting
Will Barton, 5* SG and ranked #7 overall in the class of 2010 has Xavier on his list of potential schools.
Yeah, it's probably a long shot that Xavier will get this kid, but I gaurantee more top players know about Xavier and are interested in Xavier than Dayton. What schools are on your list right now? Kentucky, Maryland, Arizona, Xavier, Memphis, Pittsburgh, Providence, Virginia, Florida, Georgetown, Indiana, Louisville, Oklahoma, Villanova and Tennessee. Will Barton recruiting update But Dayton fans are pumped about Ralph Hill, a 0* player even after Rivals updated their 2010 rankings. |

UD is doing just fine in the recruiting department as of late. We can hash this over over and over on these rankings by rivals...ya, it's great to land a Top 25 player....but then you still never know what you are going to get in the end...what was Roberts ranked by Rivals? What was Jimmie Binnie? You choose the player you'd start your team with....what was Odia ranked again? Ralph Hill may be a zero...big deal...where was Chris Johnson in the Rivals top 150? The list goes on and on and on....is AP really the 8th best player in the country right now?? If you say yes, then you would have a very very hard time proving that with stats...he through up yet another zero point effort this past weekend. So keep grasping at players that are "interested" in X. Or should I say, who were interested in Coach Miller not X.

Re: Xavier recruiting
For the sanity of the X posters on this board, I sure hope the best years are ahead of Mack. We can see how he stacks up to Miller already. The Parrom meeting was a disaster. Pretty clear when you have lost three recruits and gained zero that you have something to work up to.

Re: Xavier recruiting
You fools seem to conveniently forget that X has won 3 straight A10 championships and will likely be favored AGAIN. X's recruiting has really only lost 1 recruit and ,although X could probably use him next year, the cupboard is nowhere near empty. I suspect that there won't be a need to compare recruiting classes either because performance on the court is what counts and X isn't going anywhere.

Now, I'm going to stay consistent and say that X will be completely fine next year IF DB comes back. The loss of Parrom may never be felt if Mack recruits another solid 3/4 replace him but IF Brown leaves that leaves a serious hole at the 3/4 for X for next year.

Re: Xavier recruiting
Why? This thread was about X's recruiting and the triumvirate and kin lobbed the first salvos. The bashing usually doesn't start until the pieholes of the triumvirate show their collective ignorance. Their delusional dream is for X to somehow fall back to where UD has toiled for the last 50 years and any glimmer of hope is quickly acted upon without the realization that X's program is still miles ahead. I look at any difficulties X might have as similar to any success UD might have.... a bump in the road.

Re: Xavier recruiting
I want Mack to be at Xavier for a long time. Xavier fans deserve that.

As for Xaviers recruiting, which is what this thread was originally about (not dayton or anyone else), X has a couple of kids on campus soon, including a transfer prospect from BU, which I would be more than happy to get. It also looks like Spoon might recommit too, but it might take some time on that one.
