Re: Xavier recruiting

Brian, welcome to Xavier's system of player/student development. Make yourself feel at home. It's like a big family.

XLAX has such good info because he is actually pathetic enough to subscribe to his big brother's rivals site and poach off of Snow.

Re: Xavier recruiting

Good luck to Brian. Hopefully he can stay healthy for his last couple of years. At least he got to experience a couple of Sweet 16's and the atmosphere of a winning program. Seems that only 2 teams have the experience of going to the last 3 sweet 16's. That's pretty elite company that he got to be around.

Re: Xavier recruiting

Did Walsh seek to leave X on his own, or was he strongly encouraged to get out by the X staff?

http://cincinnati.com/blogs/xavier/2...s-for-release/

It appears Walsh asked for the release. I figured this would be coming soon due to the limited playing time he was given and the talent that is coming in at his position for the next four years.

Re: Xavier recruiting

He was waiting for Bino to be named at Maryland because Bino promised Gary Williams he could deliver Walsh if he got the job.

HAHA, that's good stuff. What's even funnier is that he actually had an offer from Maryland.

Re: Xavier recruiting

UD could use him in their quest to repeat as NIT Champs. With his addition I think they can do it.

The look of shock and betrayal on Brian's face breaks my heart. He just realized that Bobinski would sell his mother for an NIT championship.

Re: Xavier recruiting

Bobinski wants NCAA invites and wins only secondary programs care about the NIT.

Brian Walsh

2009-10: Grabbed a career-high four rebounds at Saint Louis on Feb. 24...Hit his first career three-pointers in the Bowling Green and Fordham wins...logged a career-high 13 minutes on Nov. 21 against Sacred Heart...posted a career-high four points to go with two rebounds in the win over Fordham on Jan. 31 and again at Fordham on March 3.
The bottom line is that this doesn't cut it at Xavier. The place where Walsh is getting royally screwed is in his years of eligibility. His transfer is only going to leave him 2 years of eligibility after never even getting a chance at X. But that is how the world works. When you suck, you get screwed. I'm not losing any sleep over this.

It says something about how bad Walsh must be if the coaches decide to axe him before they go after the Andrew Taylor or Splinters Robinson scholarships.

Re: Xavier recruiting

one downside of talent is that someone is left with the short end of the PT and ultimately decides to transfer.

Good luck Brian.
