Re: Xavier recruiting

Walsh is absolutely an A10 caliber player. Unfortunately for him just not for a team that is back to back to back to back defending regular season champions and back to back to back Sweet16's. 8-8 would have loved to have him.

Muddy thrives on mediocrity, never trying to be the best in the A-10, so what do you expect? Brian was not going to get significant minutes behind the current competition and the next two incoming classes, so it was time to move on. BB players want to PLAY.

Yes, we're all well aware of who is on your ignore list - we hear it ad nauseam - who cares? - try posting something relevant once in a while like you're comment on the Spearman/Harris pickup game article - that was pretty funny. As usual, you have posted a reply to my post which you say you can't see - very odd.

Re: Xavier recruiting

He wasn't the top guy, he was the Championship game MVP (even though his team lost). The Camp MVP was 4 star recruit Chane Behanan. 2011 recruit Aaron Brown, who is down to Temple, West Virginia, Rutgers, and Florida, played pretty well in the camp, too, averaging just under 9 points per game.

To be completely accurate, Dezmine was named Tournament MVP, not Championship Game MVP.

Also, Dezmine is currently at the Paul Pierce Skills Academy.

Here is an article from ESPN about the workouts and a paragraph about Dezmine.

Local products dominate Day 2

Quote:
Xavier commit and small forward Dezmine Wells (Raleigh, N.C./Hargrave Military) is a big-time athlete with great strength. He displayed the ability to score through contact and get to the rim at will during drills. The 6-5, 220-pounder is tough, competes on every possession and is going to be a beast in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Wells will probably see a nice bump up in the rankings when they come out again. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the high 30's to mid 40's.

I dont know why it would be Tournament MVP, because his numbers weren't that good besides the last game.

You would have to ask whomever was doing the selections. I don't think Snow had a vote in this one.

Super 60 recruit Gary Harris visited X again yesterday. His tour guide? Jordan Crawford.

Big Time Little Men (Mike Pegram, Rivals/Peegs.com - May 12, 2010)

Mike Pegram raises questions about Darwin Davis' shooting, physical strength, and love for the game of late.

In their May 20, 2010 update, Rivals.com dropped Darwin Davis to PG # 20 and # 80 in Rivals 150; down from # 68 overall.

ESPN/Scouts Inc. lists Darwin Davis as PG # 16 (the same as 2008 PG # 16 Kevin Dillard), and Scout.com lists Darwin Davis as PG # 25.

2011 SF # 13 Dezmine Wells looks a lot like Marcus Johnson when he was in high school, but at 6'-3", Wells is a bit short for the SF position and he is only beginning to add a bit of a jump shot..

While Darwin Davis and Dezmine Wells are reportedly excellent athletes and very good defensive players, they are both below-average shooters.

Rivals 150 - Updated July 1, 2010

Dezmine Wells up to # 58

Darwin Davis drops to # 94

Re: Xavier recruiting

Since this is a recruiting thread let's look at players not yet committed that still list X as a possibility.

2011

#15 Kentavious Caldwell
#28 Adjehi Baru
#37 Jakarr Sampson
#57 Nick Faust
#76 Mikael Hopkins
#120 Greg Lewis
#149 Tommie McCune

Of these I think X will get Sampson and hopefully Lewis.

2012

Have to use ESPN because Rivals isn't out yet.

#12 Gary Harris
#20 Dvauntes Rivera-Smith
#31 AJ Hammons
#42 Elijah Macon
#54 Jeremy Hollowell

X is looking very good for either Harris or Smith and it wouldn't suprise me to see Hammons too.

The Mack Xpress just keeps barrelling down the tracks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW MW/Prop, when a player doesn't play on the AAU circuit they tend to drop in rankings. I know you have visions of another Lavender coming but it won't be for another couple of seasons and please stop trying to compare X's recruits to cryers. It makes you look even more ignorant than people already think you are. Wells' game is far more advanced than Johnson even after 4 years of college.
