CONFERENCE: Atlantic 10
BEST PLAYER: G Ricky Harris
QUICK TAKE: Harris can fill it up, but the Minutemen don't have enough complementary talent.
BUZZ: UMass is going to need a season or two to get back into A-10 title contention. Harris' offense could lead to some upsets this season, but the frontcourt doesn't look as if it will scare anybody.

This from the Umass capsule - I would say the buzz seciotn sums up the Umass perspectus perfectly!

X is going to HAVE to play a 3 guard lineup at times this year, there's no way around it...or throw Taylor in there for extended minutes. The argument can be made that a 3 guard lineup isn't that big a deal but when the option is DJ or JC at the 3, that can present some intriguing matchups if that were the case vs. UD.

Under #21 Siena, Steve Megragee gives this blurb:

Siena clearly is the MAAC favorite and should rank alongside Butler, Dayton and Xavier as the top teams from outside the six major conferences. Coach Fran McCaffrey should get some looks from bigger programs in the offseason - assuming he wants to leave.

Do we get a trophy for that?

No. 4 Villanova (November 2, 2009)

OUTLOOK

Villanova's roster is so stocked with perimeter players, and so shallow in the frontcourt, that Wright might be forced to go with a four-guard lineup from time to time. Still, no matter what style of offense they employ, the Wildcats are talented enough to beat any team in the country - especially if they play well defensively.
