Congrats to the Flyers. They look like the best team in the A-10, at least at UD Arena. I think they are the best team in the A-10. I think Charlotte is going to fall at the Arena next up. UD has some talent and depth and they come at you at waves. I am thankfull that we split the season series at this point. I am also thankful that Xavier has taken care of business in the games that they should have in conference play.
Like I said a couple of days ago, Xavier was walking into a buzzsaw. They never responded and got drilled.

It has to frustrate you Dayton fans that your team can come out like this at home but not like this on the road. Dayton looks like a top 15 team right now.
Strong game by Dayton today. Gregory just needs to get this team to bottle that home court feel and bring it with them on the road.

They are good when they score like they did today. That was a f'n clinic, and they scored every way imaginable. Xavier got pulled into playground ball and Dayton will win most games like that. Maybe not by 30, but a combination of playing to UD's strength, and all of them shooting like Larry Byrd gets you a total *** kicking.
I still tend to think Temple is the class of the league (even though they are getting it today like X did). Dayton has 6 seniors in the rotation. Now is the time for sr. urgency to take over. We will see. I think they win out at home, but can they steal one on the road? With the youth of SLU that is a game a team with 6 Seniors has to win. They have a bad loss already, so other than Temple and Richmond they MUST win @ St. Louis and Duquesne.
We got down early and the foul trouble and deficit dug a huge hole. Then it was like an avalanche. Watching Temple get smoked makes me feel a bit better. These things happen I guess but boy did we take it on the chin.
On a positive note, I usally take blow-outs quite well. It is the 1 point and overtime losses that leave me agonizing for weeks on end. "If we only could have had that game". Today will be easy to get over in that respect. I was impressed by the Flyers. I think they are getting hot at just the right time. Dayton is a dangerous team and I am glad to be rid of them.

If Richmond hangs on to the large lead the standings are going to be one big jumble. Charlotte will be in first and we have a six way race. It would be hard for me to call anyone "the class of the league" given the tightness of the race. Could Temple still be a favorite to win the regular season title? Sure. But that is about all you could say.

Snipe, I feel the same. Dayton's 3 losses in the conference by a total of 6 points were only cleansed today with the sacrificial blood of the Muskies.

Who has a better chance of winning on the opponent's home court in this series?
Honestly, the ungodly amount of offensive rebounds that Dayton collected in the first game kept them in it. Chris Johnson alone had around 20 rebounds! Has he had double-digit rebounds since then? I gaurantee Dante Jackson will not be allowing Johnson to crash the offensive glass this time around. Will Chris Johnson still get some rebounds? Yes, and probably a few offensive, but Xavier as a team will rebound a lot better, that is a given.
I just think Xavier's offense is a lot more efficient than Dayton's. Jamel McLean has been putting up Chris Wright type numbers the past 3-4 games. Jason Love is scoring in a variety of ways in the low post. Frease is playing with more confidence. Xavier's guards are better than Dayton's, plus Xavier has Jordan Crawford.
Will Xavier win? I think so, but it will probably be close, and I wouldn't be surprised if Dayton won. Their defense is excellent and keeps them in pretty much every game.
When UD makes Js, we can compete with anyone. When its brick city, we struggle. Our two best performances of the year have come against Xavier. Game one we missed shots, game two we made shots. In both cases though, we played as hard as any team can expect to play.
Complete mental and physical domination! It's frustrates me as a UD fan, that we can look this good against X and play so poorly at St. Joes.
Serious question for X fans, What is up with Frease? He looked totally uninterested in the game.
I wondered several times how the hell this team lost to St. Joe's. Adam was right, we definitely walked into a buzzsaw. We got punched in the mouth early and never recovered. We were never really in this game.
I don't know what the deal with Frease is. He has had some good games and some bad games. Today he didn't look like he wanted to be there, but he wasn't the only one. I also think that Dayton presents a real matchup problem for Kenny with their quickness and athleticism.

Effort was huge from Dayton. They played hard and hit shots. Xavier did not even come close to matching the intensity. I don't know why, but they didn't. I can handle losing to a good Dayton team at UD, but not by this much. I can only imagine what that bus ride back was like for those kids. I wonder if Mack yelled the whole time, or just sat in silence.
We have a chance to beat a decent Florida team on the road next week and we have a lot of time to prepare. We need to focus and get the win. It's not a conference game, but we need a good road win.
