Trying to be polite here, but Kenny Frease is not good. He may yet turn into a nice player, but he's not right now. He's the first Xavier player I can ever remember not improving in nearly two years of play. The little volleyball set he tried was one of the more pathetic efforts you'll see out of a strong seven foot tall man. Looks like King Kenny, plays like Princess Kenny.
Jordan Crawford is ri-donk-ulous. I hate him, but gd it, I respect him.
Felt sorry for Andrew Taylor. Foul trouble or not, no reason at all for him to be guarding Wright. Big mistake by Mack, six nearly effortless points. Should have went small, Wright doesn't post up.
The Flyers were not going to lose today, Xavier never had a shot. To top it off they all seemed to quit with about 6 minutes left, which is something I can't ever remember seeing out of a Xavier team. They have road issues, another concept foreign to Xavier.
What a game. Wright, Chris Johnson, Lowery, Marcus, Huelsman, Warren, Williams, Searcy...outstanding effort. The Flyers aren't the most talented team around, but very rarely will anyone out fight them. This team can be pretty special when they put it all together like today. Hopefully it's not a one game deal. This win won't mean a whole lot if they don't use it as a springboard to a win streak.

I actually think UD is one of the most talented teams around. There was a reason people had them in the preseason top 25. I think there is certainly more talent on UD's roster than X's. They just lack basketball skill and IQ for the most part, and they have never had their talent developed. Xavier's players rely on skill with the exception of Jamel McLean and Mark Lyons. UD's players rely on raw talent with the exception of Huelsman and Fabrizius. When the team that relies on skill plays poorly it is not good, when the team that has uber talent shoots 60% from the field it is scary and leads to outcomes like todays.
Mack needs to learn how to use substitutions like Brian Gregory. And Mack needs to learn how to develop players defensively. If they could play defense, they might not have been dump-trucked today.

This time it was Xavier, the No. 3 seed with an attitude, that got Bruin-ized, 76-57. XU was so intense that when a flag-waving, UCLA cheerleader planted himself at halfcourt during the pregame warm-ups, Musketeers senior guard Stanley Burrell told him to get off the floor. When the cheerleader didn't budge, Burrell gave him a baby forearm shiver.
"He was cursing me," the cheerleader said. "Most disrespectful thing I've ever seen. But no big deal."
X got the carbon copy of what UD did to Pitt a few years ago. Like Pitt, X mailed it in and Dayton played their best game of the year. Congrats to UD on their effort today. As an X fan I am extremely dissappointed but hope the team learns from this and gets its act together.
Uh, it is indeed a classic, Ored -- a brilliant piece of sarcasm aimed squarely at the incessantly inglorious and repetitive rantings of Tman.
It's doubly ironic, and tman is having the last laugh, because the substitution patterns did change. They were not nearly as erratic as usual and we had our best offensive performance of the year.
The subsitution patterns didn't really change. Fabrizius was unavailable, which was the only real difference. Looked like his back was locked up every time he stood up. Wright played 31 minutes, which is what he'll play in big games when he stays out of foul trouble. Didn't pick up his first until well into the second half.
Wright - 31
Chris Johnson - 22
Paul Williams -23
Marcus Johnson - 21
Rob Lowery - 21
Devin Searcy - 20
Kurt Huelsman - 18
London Warren - 18
Mickey Perry - 13
Josh Benson - 10
10 guys played at least 10 minutes. That's BG all the way.
