You misunderstood me, res. Breakfast can't possibly be as tasty in Mt. Healthy as it must be at Randy Sprague's! And, my HS colors were also Maroon and White!

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?

I didn't go to Charlotte, my dad was on faculty when I grew up, starting in the mid-70's to the mid-90's. I started going to games when I was about 5 years old (just missed the Final 4 run in '77). Went elsewhere for college, but remained a loyal fan of the school I grew up with. Since I haven't lived in Charlotte for a while, I probably have become more of a diehard fan with the rise of the internet, which allows me to watch games, listen to radio broadcasts, or at least get boxscores and writeups of all the games despite living halfway across the country. Used to be it was hard as hell to keep up with the team living elsewhere.

Sorry you missed out on some good teams rworkman09. It was almost as fun in the late 80's after Mullins turned the program around and the Niners started to surprise people.

Yup. BS & MBA from UD '62 - '68. Got to see UD & UCLA in NCAA final in '67. Saw UD win NIT on TV my senior year in HS & decided on that basis to attend. Went sight unseen (kinda like some of our current BB committments).

Personally I have been a fan of Temple basketball since I was 4-5 years old mostly because of John Chaney but because I also had a knack for picking sports teams with a underdog spirit (Growing up in Nevada meant I was a free agent fan wise) and fell in love with Temple. Would have loved to attend school but felt I needed to stay locally but it has always been my dream to fly out and attend games and I will someday.

Luckily Nevada and Temple have never played because it would be awkward but there is no doubt in my mind I would be wearing Temple's colors.
That's awesome man. If you ever make it for a game, first beer is on me, although I'm hoping to move to the west coast when I graduate. I have a friend at TU who went to UNLV for the hotel school, but transferred to Temple. I also know someone else here who is from Las Vegas, and went to Temple because his dad is from NJ and went to Temple.

Anyway, I'm a current Temple student. My dad also went to Temple. I've been going to Temple football and basketball games my whole life, and have a lot of memories of terrible Temple football and very good Temple basketball. Fortunately, Temple football and basketball have both been good while I've been at TU. Go Owls!

BS and MBA from Xavier. Was not a fan of Basketball at all prior to attending XU. Xavier took care of that though!

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?

Yes, was leaning towards UMass when a recruiter showed up at my HS and handed me the application, which in the third page had a red Athletic stamp on. Was accepted in the week. Never ran xcountry or track. Had minor surgery in the fall and then went into the Army. When returning to UMass thought about track for a second and decided getting accepted into the School of Management was more important.
