Were you a chem major? I was, graduating in 2000, so I would have been a frosh when you were a senior.

So yes, to answer the original question of the thread...I did go to UR.

Anyone else look at another A10 school? UMass was one of my top choices, but I ended up at another MA school before transferring to Temple after my freshman year.

I was accepted to Dayton, Temple, and La Salle. I wanted to go away to school first so Dayton was the choice but decided to stay home and selected La Salle where I was fortunate enough to be there during the Lionel Simmons era. Graduated in 1988.

Yep. But I didn't make a career out of it. I loved Analytic Chem with Dominey and Stevenson, but P-Chem was a beating for me. I'm a CS guy now.

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?

As a child, I was a University of Michigan fan. University of Dayton's Engineering School offered my family and I a deal we could not refuse. Attended UD during the Roosevelt Chapman years. I did attend the University of Michigan for Grad School, but by the time I made it to Ann Arbor, I was hooked on Flyer Basketball.

My wife is a UD grad. My Father in Law is a Xavier grad.

HA. She's aware that I dislike Dayton basketball; not sure about the board... funny enough, I almost went to Dayton. Sweet school, but probably wouldn't have worked out wearing my Xavier shirts up there!

Yes, I went to URI and graduated class of 2000. I also considered Worcester Polytech but consider engineering a strength at URI. At the very least my student debts are quite a bit smaller than the alternative.

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?

Saint Joseph's Class of '91. Just attended my twenty year reunion a couple of weeks ago.

I didn't apply to any other A10 schools when looking for colleges though for law school, I applied to both Fordham and GW.

I did my undergrad at a D-III school and until I got to Bonas for grad school, the only basketball games I had been to were some HS girls playoff games (the star of that team later went to Xavier and briefly the WNBA) so I wasn't well versed. Even in the depths of the Solomon teams, I still caught the spirit of the Bonnies and have been a season ticket holder for 7 years now.

Apologies if this has been discussed before, I was just curious.

The D-3 school I support I actually do go there. Sacred Heart (D-1) I don't go there, have never went there, will never go there, but my mom teaches there.

I looked at St. Joe's and Duquesne before going with Bona. In the end, my family history at SBU (third generation with many alums in the fam) sealed the deal. It was the best decision of my life to this point.

I've never met a Bona grad who wouldn't agree with you.

I just attended a short course on estimation theory taught by a URI professor. It was tremendous. Engineering must be a strength at URI if you have more profs like him.

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?

There's a reason Mateer has that handle. They were tight during those 5 years. Mateer (the fake one) has an excellent story about a fundraising call from Mateer (the real one) after graduation.

I graduated from UR. Went to all the games when I was in school, followed them as best as possible in the CAA years following graduation but it was really the move to the A10 that upped my level of interest significantly.
