I went through 4 years of Xavier pursuing an Accounting degree, thinking I had to go the public accounting route when I got out. I didn't know it was possible to hate auditing that much. If I may ask a tag-a-long question here: how many of us were bartenders while in school? I ask that because being a bartender almost enables you to get the equivalent of a sociology degree - stand behind the bar sober and watch all the entertainment as the night stumbles on. |

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
FQ, if you want to discuss this, start an OT thread and have at it. In fact, I'll even contribute. I started to respond to your arguments twice and then hit the back button because I don't think this is the place for it.

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
Xavier 01, middle class with a full ride, but wouldn't have happened if my parents didn't shell out cash for a richie expensive high school.
I do think its much easier to get a merit scholarship with all the help that a good high school with great counselors, SAT tutoring, grade inflation, honors classes, etc provides. |

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
Dayton '93. Barely cared about basketball until I got student season tickets my senior year. After graduation, didn't care much at all again until early 00's. Season tickets for last 6 years or so.

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
I moved all of the politics stuff to a new thread. Have fun just don't start calling each other names. If you can't have a civil conversation about it, don't have one.

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
I got my BS from Rhode Island out of high school and got hooked on Rhody Hoops as I finished up my studies.
Strangely, Lamar Odom was playing during my Freshman year and I didn't have any interest at the time. |

. . . and for those of you who were not already aware, Gormin71 is a Xavier fan impersonating a Dayton Flyers fan. Gormin71 displays a Dayton Flyers avatar, but he never posts on the MB after a Dayton Flyers win and rarely has anything good to say about the Flyers. Gormin71 is quick to attack real Dayton fans and quick to defend Xavier on the MB. He uses the same terms as Xavier fans. Below are Gormin71's recent posts: Quote:

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
The Sad Truths of Internet Trolls:
Trolls are immune to criticism and logical arguments. True trolls cannot be reasoned with, regardless of how sound your logical argument is. Trolls do not feel remorse like you and me. They have sociopathic tendencies, and accordingly, they delight in other people having hurt feelings. Trolls consider themselves separate from the social order. Trolls do not abide by etiquette or the rules of common courtesy. Trolls consider themselves above social responsibility. Trolls gain energy by you insulting them. Trolls gain energy when you get angry. The only way to deal with a troll is to ignore him, or take away his ability to post online. How Should I Deal With Internet Trolls? You cannot win with a troll. Publicly retaliating against them just fuels their childish need for attention. There are only 3 reliable ways to deal with trolls, all of which focus on removing their audience, removing their power, and depriving them of the attention they seek. |

Oh, and the UD Women's Volleyball team will win both the A10 regular season crown, and the A10 tournament crown this year. And if Krabacher can get her act together, she could be A10 POY again. But, once again, I went to The University of Dayton and graduated in 1993. (and I haven't been sent a sweater vest yet, but did buy an NIT Championship tshirt.) |

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
Nice try Gormin71, but no cigar. You've been "outed", and there's no going back.
