Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
Hey, Muddy, let me know when you will be down at Baujan or the Frericks center this month, and we can meet. I'll be the one cheering for the Flyers, by the way. Oh, wait, that's right, you won't be there, because you're not a Dayton Flyers fan, you are just a Xavier hater. I forgot.

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
Hawk Hill Grad - 1991. Big Hawk fan. I grew up a Villanova fan but learned quickly the errors of my ways.
I am actually a Temple Owl fan also. Was a big John Chaney fan and in the 90's the Hawks were generally an average program (just like the last 8 years) and I started pulling for Temple hard. Of course then the Hawks starting beating the crap out of Temple for a bunch of years straight and Chaney went batsh*t, their AD went batsh*t and their play by play guy went batsh*t. Worse their fans went batsh*t. They just could not believe that Martelli could beat the crap out of Chaney year after year. Fleeting memories. Dunphy has brought me back in the fold. I am looking forward to their move to the Big East as I now will have a rooting interest in that league.

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
I did not go to Fordham.
Yeah right. I can't imagine why anyone who did not go to Fordham would willingly root for Fordham, but believe it or not there are some out there. I am a 1993 graduate of Fordham University, I bleed maroon and I can't let go even though I should. As I like to say, you can't pick the school you graduated from. |

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
For cross country and track was recruited by several schools in the mid 70's. UMass sent a recruiter to my school and handed me an application with an Athletic Stamp. So yes, but never competed had both legs operated on and then decided that I would go in the Army to pay for school. Returned and graduated, but concentrated on grades and life and not competing in sports.

So true. Sad, but true. Indeed.

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
As Muddy pointed out earlier, I went to Miami and graduated in 2002. I grew up in the suburbs north of Dayton, and my entire extended family is spread out around Dayton. I started going to Dayton basketball games in high school. My freshman year was Szczerbiak's senior season, which was fun. But after that, the only Miami games I went to were when Dayton was in town.
One of my favorite moments of my entire college experience was this game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiCrrTQE_k8 My dad (a General Motors Institute grad) came down from Dayton to watch it with me, and we were going crazy as Stanley kept throwing in threes. |

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
I went Northeastern my freshman and sophomore years, then transferred to UMass and finished my college experience there. At UMass, I was a member of the Delta Kai fraternity. Good Times.

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
Hey, Muddy, while you've been posting on your favorite team's (Xavier) threads, I posted the following prediction on September 27th, 2012:
Quote:
A10 Volleyball Tournament Champion - Dayton Check! A10 Volleyball Player of the Year - Rachel Krabacher Check! Muddy, did you even know that Dayton was in the A10 Volleyball Finals today? How many sets did it take? (Without looking of course. Who am I kidding, we all know you'll look.) Did we sweep them? Did we win 3-1 like the 2 regular season meetings? Did they challenge us to a 5 set match? Can you tell me? I didn't think so. Wait, you don't understand anything I posted above. Let me help you out the only way you can comprehend: Dayton Wins Fourth Straight A-10 Volleyball Title - Atlantic10.com Atlantic 10 Volleyball Champion Picture - Atlantic10.com (Oh, that big guy in the back, Muddy, is Rudy Flyer, our mascot. Just wanted to let you know.) Match 5 Box Score (UD-XU) - Atlantic10.com Dayton wins 2012 A-10 Volleyball Title - Twitter.com Atlantic 10 Championship Central - Volleyball - Atlantic10.com I'd add a link to daytonflyers.com, but they don't have it up yet. UD's SID Mr. Hauschild has been busy this week, with winning the A10 Volleyball Tournament in Pittsburgh, and the Men's Basketball team going 2-1 in the Charleston Classic, and the Women's Basketball team upsetting 2, count that 2! Top 25 teams. But, then, you wouldn't know any of that. You don't follow the University of Dayton because you aren't a Dayton fan. To use your immortal words, Muddy, you've been outed! To the rest of my Atlantic 10 fans, I have 3 words for you, Smell our (volleyball) Shorts!!! (They don't wear gloves in volleyball, but them shorts look good! )(And, yes, my head does hurt with all this bloody editing I had to do. Took my 25 minutes, sheesh. Well worth it though. )

Re: Did You Go to the School You Support?
Took out the Lady Muskies after they had built a 2-0 lead in games.
Good job by Dayton. They should figure out a way to hold these games at the higher seeds home court. Maybe stretch the tournament out a couple days. There were only 423 people (announced) in attendance.
