Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
Cause for concern?
Weber had zero D1 wins and previous losses to 300+ teams. I'd post a million links but I think you get the picture.

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
Weber State 62, Dayton 61 (ESPN Box Score) The Flyers missed 36 FG attempts (about half of them from under the basket), were out-rebounded 32-28, and shot 2-8 from downtown while Weber State’ made 8-17 from 3-point range. Poor effort and poor result. Dayton Flyers homepage (Dayton Daily News) This game received a lot more coverage than normal in the local newspaper.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote:

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
If there are 347 Division 1 teams, and you play the team at home with an RPI of 347 and lose...your RPI is going to take a hit.
All A10 teams need to win as many OOC games as they can to help our league.

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
Same ole crap we've seen from this program (dayton) for years. Hire a man who has NO experience as a head coach. Schedule a dozen dull azz home games that doesn't help the basketball program that no one cares to watch ,,,poor all the money into the non-revenue making sports---and wait for your call from the Big East..

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
Let me get this straight... UD loses to the worst (yes the WORST) team in Division I NCAA basketball AT HOME??? RPI of #347.
Looks like it's going to be another underachieving, irrelevant year in Dayton (except when they host the first 4 games of the NCAA tourney!!) In the words of Flyer75, where are all of the UD fans??? At least bprichard showed up.

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
Where are these RPI numbers coming from? Its utterly irrelevant for another 2 months, but I use StatSheet.

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
RPI is irrelevant right now. Regardless, if you think you're an NCAA tourney contender, losing at home to the team that is in last place in RPI at any point in the season is horrible.
Thankfully, with this loss Muddy has announced he will not post anymore RPI updates until Jan. 1 at the earliest.

It goes something like this...Since posting RPI numbers no longer support my agenda of slamming Xavier every chance I get (i.e. X now has a much higher RPI than my beloved Flyers), I won't post it again until January 1, 2013. I am hoping against hope that by then, Dayton's numbers will be better than X's. If not, the RPI postings will be deep sixed until next season. Instead, I'll have to think of another way I can attack Xavier. Maybe I'll fall back on the old "in aggregate, over 3 games, Dayton scored more points argument." |

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
Those of you who check my record will note I am not a UD basher (with rare exceptions for a shot at one pretty annoying poster). So in all seriousness, how panicked does the program get over this loss. Weber State is bad. Fairliegh Dickenson bad. I think Archie is a good guy and am sure a knowledgable coach, but for a program that would like to be, lets say top 50, can't have too many home loses to the Buffalos and Weber States of the world.
How much leash does Archie have. 4 or 5 years of no tournament? less?
