There is a fairly consistent pattern where said poster does his A-10 community service by updating RPI on a daily basis - which said poster states he does for the good of all teams in the league to easily keep track of the A-10 BTW. It starts sporadically as early RPI is about as accurate as a Joel Welser top 144 list. Around the first week of January, the daily updates begin. Said poster's favorite team is always in the mix of top 50 RPIs at this point in the season and is voraciously promoted as such. Somewhere in the early part of February, said poster's favorite team has two or three RPI crushers and they fall off the RPI map. The likes of myself or other rivals of said poster will call out said poster for being far too superlative in his support of his own team at the expense of said poster's rival. This will be immediately followed by a rant from said poster that this board is full of haters and he is taking his ball and going home.

And here is the rub, after conveniently coming up with a reason to stop these updates - and when it just happens to correlate to said poster's team falling out of favorable positioning - said poster's favorite team will regain a little control again and creep back into the picture, and as if by magic, said poster appears again in the RPI update thread.

When I refer to "a fairly consistent pattern" above, I mean you can set your watch by it.....

By the way, Knobby, I will have to disagree that Muddy rants after being criticized about people being haters, takes his ball, and goes home. In fact, he rarely responds directly to ad hominem attacks.

I absolutely detest the term mid-major when talking about college basketball. DePaul, Providence, Seton Hall St. Johns Rutgers Penn State Northwestern Auburn etc. are majors?

I've said it before and I'll say it a thousand times. If I see a guy wearing a foil hat and nothing else arguing out loud with no one in particular, I'm going to chuckle and go about my day. It takes a special kind of creepy nutcase to stop and argue back.

Ok "haters" is paraphrasing... Go back and look at the record. EVERY year he incessantly posts in the RPI thread - almost enough to singlehandedly crash the bandwidth of this site. In early February Dayton falls off and he whines and stops for the reason du jour. Dayton teases and gets back into the picture, he reapeears, then they let down (again) and he dissapears. IT HAPPENS EVERY YEAR!

Quite frankly it should not be that big a deal. Why shouldn't you care about your own team first and foremost. Where it becomes hypocritical, is this premis, the he himself proffesses, that he is doing this to monitor the whole conference. That's BS, and his track record proves it - you CANNOT DISPUTE IT!

Ironically, he "ignores" liars when he himself is the biggest culprit. All he needs to do is fess-up... He doesn't give two schidts about any other team except Dayton and his closet love-affair with X...

It sucks having to read around all of this crap and adding to it myself sucks too, but he doesn't get a pass because of insanity. Hypocrisy is one of the worst forms of human life - and his level of it rivals our government.

Honestly, I enjoy most of the Muddy posts. His "links" and stats add substance. I am mostly interested in Dayton, X and now Butler (because of their proximity to Dayton), so I am interested in most of what he posts. I love that other posters who are more interested in other schools have their own discussions about their respective teams and it's interesting to check in occassionally. I don't begrudge their activity or having to "read around it". It's a board for discussion of all A10 teams. I know there is going to be a lot that does not interest me all the time. It's easy to focus on the threads that do interest me.
