Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
I actually wonder if Benson and the team wouldn't be better served if he came of the bench? In part, he hopefully gets to observe whats going on, bring some energy (hopefully positive) when he enters, and plays against the other teams' subs. I don't know if he is hurting, doesn't have confidence in his recovery or the injuries have taken away some of his athletic ability. Maybe some success off the bench would be a boost for him.

Vee Sanford will be a senior, Matt Derenbecker and Jordan Sibert (who is reportedly shooting 3's well in practice) will be juniors, Dyshawn Pierre and Khari Price will be sophomores, while Dayshon Smith and Kyle Davis will be freshmen. ![]() BTW, former flyer Juwan Staten has not yet made any 3-point shots for Bob Huggins. . . . but he still thinks he will be playing in the league in a couple of years. Good luck with that, Juwan.

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
What does this have to do with 2012-13's version of Dayton bball? Is it already time for "wait til next year"?

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
Do not count this team out of the discussion to get much better as the season goes on. These 3 guys who lit it up last night were not fortunate. They're transfers.

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
So Muddy goes away and there is good discussion in this thread, including Xavier fans. Muddy returns with harmless posts that can not possibly be seen as inciteful (rare for him), and Xavier fans return to mock him while derailing the quality discussion that has been taking place.
But yeah, let's keep pretending Muddy is the only issue on the board. Perhaps Manti Te'o believes it.

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
Re-read your post. You say Muddy is gone, and good discussion is taking place on this thread (which I agree, the last few weeks have been good discourse).
Then you say Muddy returns and the quality discussion is derailed. Then you conclude that Muddy is not the problem.

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
Even Ray Charles could see the point Adam was making, and one that he's spot on. Now I have no idea what Muddy is doing elsewhere on X threads, I rarely look at those, but I think it shows what good moderation could do for this board. There was nothing in his 3 point thread that attacked anyone w/n the A-10 (only Juwaan Staten could have been offended by that) yet X fans pop out and feel the need to take a swipe at UD and/or Muddy.
I think the point stands, the issues with this board do not soley sit in Muddy's corner, there's plenty of blame to go around. |

Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
Last night's shooting had me curious, so I looked at some stats. Dayton essentially has 4 guys shooting better than 40% from 3, and 5 over 36%.
Pierre - 48.6% Derenbecker - 44.6% Price - 42.4% Dillard - 39.8% Sanford - 36.8% 39.2% as a team from 3. 46% overall. They can put the ball in the basket. Fix the turnover issue and they can do some really good things on offense. The defense is what it is, but to me, this is a team capable of simply outscoring most teams they play. Just have to have possessions end in shots.
