I'm not Adam, but yes, it is. Muddy we can talk about 3 point field goal percentage and rebounding margin all we want, but these guys are right that its the standings that matter. And, as of now, we are toward the bottom.

But, I fully expect that to change. If my other posts haven't shown it, I am optimistic about this team. I think Dayton is one of the most talented teams in the league, and are starting to put it together. They ran into a buzzsaw at VCU, played poor defense against a Butler team that shot the lights out (Andrew Smith with a dagger 3), and inflicted themselves against LaSalle. But teams are going to lose games this year in league play. The winner will probably have 3 losses.

UD could possibly tie X in the loss column by winning next Wednesday's showdown. Of course, that won't happen. But anyway, while it seems like we are far behind, we aren't that far behind. And we are only going to get better.

Yet another sad day (one of many in Flyerland) when they have to resort to who has the bigger rebounding edge.

Muddy and friends- Xavier's record (you know, the thing that keeps track of how many gamesa team actually won and lost) may have an even bigger edge over Dayton than it appears.

Xavier's A-10 record: 4-1 Wins over Temple, La Salle, St Bona and George Washington
Dayton's A-10 record: 1-3 Win over Fordham (without their best player)

Xavier vs Top 25: 1-1
Dayton vs Top 25: 0-2

Xavier vs Top 50: 2-2
Dayton vs Top 50: 1-4

Xavier vs Top 100: 3-3
Dayton vs Top 100: 2-4

And all this in the first year of a multi-year rough patch for X and a year UD should have made the tourney with Dillard being a senior and all their "lucky" transfers.

Hey, at least the Flyers can hold on to that rebounding margin.

Dayton is 1-3. Dayton's only win came against Fordham at home without Fordham's best player.

Dayton has 3 losses in conference. Xavier has played 2 of those teams (Butler and La Salle) and beat both of them by wide margins.
