As I have previously posted, I firmly believe that the contributions of wings Vee Sanford and Matt Derenbecker will collectively be an improvement over Paul Williams and Chris Johnson, meaning that in my humble opinion, the Flyers will have a better starting lineup in 2012-13 than they had last season, along with a much stronger and deeper bench.

These two important factors appear to have been overlooked by the pre-season prognosticators to date.

Seems last year would have been the year for "pine jockey" to take over for Wright. Did he just chicken out or was it that he just wasn't good enough. Georgetown was seriously lacking for a PG last year.

BTW, how do you know Christon "plays wildly and can't shoot a lick? Have you watched him? Seems ALL the scouting services would be a little hesitant to put someone like that in their TOP40. X will be just fine as always.

Neither. JTIII values experience over talent and benches players who can help him. He played Hollis Thompson out of position in 2010-2011 and when he tested the NBA waters, at his natural position, scouts said he had a 50/50 chance of making it. He pulled out and came back this year but John Thompson is a stubborn ass coach. Further, I think Vee prefers the 2 spot. Georgetown runs a rigid offense, he may have not cared for it. He wouldn't be the first.

Try watching his game videos, not his highlights. He has poor mechanics and thrives on his athleticism/strength to get to the rim. He may put it together in a couple years but he's not going to be a threat from any real range.
As for Xavier as a whole, there isn't much down low, the backcourt is also a question mark.

In his time at Dayton, he rebounded well and dunked, did he do anything else?

You're not off to a good start here, nomad. 2 out of your 3 posts on a Dayton Flyers 2012-13 thread have been not about Dayton, but rather about Xavier.

You're new here, but as many of your fellow Flyer fans will attest to, it'll get torturous for you to predict the downfall of X year after year in the preseason, yet watch them make their annual deep NCAA tournament run in the postseason while your Flyers had a first round NIT exit, or didn't get invited to any tournament at all....

Without Lyons, a questionable bunch of players and Dez Wells, I really don't see why you would be confident at this point.
It's a rebuilding year, they happen.
Xavier could prove me wrong, I just don't see it going well for them.
As for "my flyers", I'm not a UD alum. I just think they have more pieces than you currently.

Every year X goes through transition and still competes. Semaj is a 5 star point guard who started for the most talented high school prep team in the nation. Ill take what the experts say on him over your opinion.

UD may have more answers but most of their answers haven't played yet for UD. so its not much different then X's problems.
