Re: 2012-2013 Dayton Flyers
Dude, you are mistaking Muddy for someone who actually uses relevant staistics. He prefers to use the stats that back his point only. Little things like winning games matter not when calling a Dayton player out to be the next Xavier Widow-maker.... I mean really, the kid did score 19 points one time!

These two important factors appear to have been overlooked by the pre-season prognosticators to date.

Yes because a career pine jockey and a drunk is an obvious step up from 2 four year contributors

He road the pine behind Chris Wright at Georgetown. You know, the good one? Honestly, I'd be more concerned about about a point guard, who plays wildly and can't shoot a lick.(Semaj Christon) Who's coming in to help Xu? It's a good thing they have Wells or they wouldn't have anything at all. |

BTW, how do you know Christon "plays wildly and can't shoot a lick? Have you watched him? Seems ALL the scouting services would be a little hesitant to put someone like that in their TOP40. X will be just fine as always.

Neither. JTIII values experience over talent and benches players who can help him. He played Hollis Thompson out of position in 2010-2011 and when he tested the NBA waters, at his natural position, scouts said he had a 50/50 chance of making it. He pulled out and came back this year but John Thompson is a stubborn ass coach. Further, I think Vee prefers the 2 spot. Georgetown runs a rigid offense, he may have not cared for it. He wouldn't be the first. http://www.casualhoya.com/2012/1/12/...nceton-offense Quote:
He's #1 in black. #1 in white has a jump shot, the other guy, not so much. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFxWR40rfY0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMQNSFOz8AQ Try watching his game videos, not his highlights. He has poor mechanics and thrives on his athleticism/strength to get to the rim. He may put it together in a couple years but he's not going to be a threat from any real range. As for Xavier as a whole, there isn't much down low, the backcourt is also a question mark. |

You're not off to a good start here, nomad. 2 out of your 3 posts on a Dayton Flyers 2012-13 thread have been not about Dayton, but rather about Xavier. You're new here, but as many of your fellow Flyer fans will attest to, it'll get torturous for you to predict the downfall of X year after year in the preseason, yet watch them make their annual deep NCAA tournament run in the postseason while your Flyers had a first round NIT exit, or didn't get invited to any tournament at all.... |

I saw it, it's just that I don't agree with this perception. You and the person who said that, ignore the obvious implication of your very being here. You should be asking "This thread is about the UD flyers, why does it concern X?" If it doesn't, you really have no reason to be here, do you? Not to crap on your parade(I'm going to anyway), you managed to beat Notre Dame(without Abromaitis, barely) and the Lehigh Mountain Hawks(who were beating you). I find that underwhelming. The year before, you lost to Marquette in the first round. So what great run do you see next year? Do you remember the expectations coming into last season? They were a lot higher than what actually resulted. I don't imagine any X fans, saw the Hawai'i "L" coming. Just saying... Without Lyons, a questionable bunch of players and Dez Wells, I really don't see why you would be confident at this point. It's a rebuilding year, they happen. Xavier could prove me wrong, I just don't see it going well for them. As for "my flyers", I'm not a UD alum. I just think they have more pieces than you currently. |

Yawn.... Lemme guess. The flyers are a sweet sixteen or better team next year right? Every year X goes through transition and still competes. Semaj is a 5 star point guard who started for the most talented high school prep team in the nation. Ill take what the experts say on him over your opinion. UD may have more answers but most of their answers haven't played yet for UD. so its not much different then X's problems. you obviously dont get that I doesn't matter what the subject is. It will always tangent. just like what you did here, before someone pulls it back on track. I honestly don't even think you know all that much UD or X. your just tryin to bust some balls.
