Chris Wright is in the NBA because of his potential, potential that Brian Gregory did nothing to expand upon. He may have been drafted if he left early, instead he gets to wear a suit on the sideline half the time.
As for better, in what way is he better?
He can't shoot as well, he can't drive, he can't do much of anything, except jump.
He'd make a great tight end but he was always a lousy ball player.


Being in the NBA, is not inherently a stamp that you're better. I remember when Barcelona destroyed the Lakers with Kobe and their other starters on the floor 2 years ago.
The NBA recruits a particular type of athlete, not always the most skillfull players.

To say Chris Wright from Georgetown is worse, than Chris Wright from Dayton, is retarded.
I wouldn't be shocked, if in another couple years, Chris Wright wasn't off Golden State and playing in a league with Steve Toyloy. I doubt too many folks are wowed by his 2.9 points and 1.9 rebounds a game. I'd also bet there are european players who could do better.

As a fan of college basketball, certain fan bases some times need a reality check. I saw comments, that seemed to imply XU was better off this coming season than Dayton. I just thought I'd dump a little cold water on some heads. I'm really not ripping Xavier, so much as pointing out, that they're entering into a great unknown next season and ripping on certain people; for what I feel is an undeserved arrogance.

History is just that.
I'm sorry, but expecting a group of frosh, Wells and Dee Davis to make you a sweet 16 team, is a little far fetched.
Not impossible mind you, just entirely unsupported by sports logic or reality, as it currently stands.

Rebuilding years happen. If saying that ruffles your pride too much, you probably don't have all that much to begin with.
On the other hand, taking too much pride in your school's athletic department, is pretty lame in it's own right.
I'd like to think a man's life has merit of it's own, not just by association.

Dayton fans have to be damn near medically-treated depression knowing OU has more NCAA wins in 1 year than Dayton has in 20+ years. It's so terribly pathetic.

Meanwhile, Xavier has 4 NCAA Sweet 16's in 5 years, along with Michigan St, North Carolina and Kansas as the only other schools in the nation that can state that.

Still, Dayton fans try to compare Xavier to Dayton and take shots at Xavier every chance they can. Sad. Sad, INDEED.

High major, nationally relevant and successful programs cannot, repeat cannot, be compared to underachieving mid-major, regional programs such as UD.

Nomad, please stop posting so this tread can get back on topic.

X will be fine next year. Top level talent coming in. Top level talent already in the program. X does what it will always does and reload. Not rebuild... Reload...

UD will be good next year for UD standards. Which will be a NCAA bid (Dillard will go balls to the walls and get you there).

X fans love to go off of history for their predictions. So that means that their team is destined to do something totally gangsta and nationally embarrassing to the A10 again this year like rip a waterfountain off the wall after they lose a game or start a brawl with 5 seconds left in a blowout. Father Graham will then go to the internet to issue another public apology, force Mack to do an apology at half court before the next home game, and there will be a Xavier fan reflection session announcement.

It's part of the Xavier cycle that we have all come to accept.
