Jerry Carino is reporting that longtime Rutgers staff member Jim Carr will join the staff of Dan Hurley at Rhode Island. It was earlier reported that Dan's brother Bobby, former NBA and Duke star, will also be an assistant. Adam Zagoria also reports that Preston Murphy (URI Class of 1999 alumnus and member of four 20 win or more teams, three NCAA teams, 1998 Elite-8 team, and 1999 A-10 Tournament Champion team) will be retained and remain on the staff.

I think Hurley is going to do excellent at URI. He's a great coach and I expect Rhody to return to relevance.

Jim Carr is a class act. No parent should have to deal with what he and his wife did with respect to a child.

Well now that Holton is gone, and although Ive heard Baron will stay, I wont really believe it until it happens...we still are a work in progress. I dont expect all that much better next year...again, the freshman impact etc are yet to be determined but I anything above 6-10 in conference next year would be a pleasant surprise.

At least the wheels are turning in the right direction.

But I agree that long term, they are in better shape now than 2 months ago.

If anything the Rhody guards will probably have to work their asses off just to compete with Hurley and Murphy in a pickup game, even in their current shape.
