Very valid point, z5.

However, there are a number of reasons not to copy what the Patriots did:

1. Never copy a lying, cheating franchise such as the New England Patriots. UMass is one of the top 10 institutions of higher education in the nation, and should be held to higher standards than that. That means there should be no affiliation with the New England Patriots. It's bad enough that we play in their football stadium.
2. All of those other states don't deserve to see what the championship looks like, as they do not garner the respect associated with being graced by our championship trophy. Rhode Island is so trashy, it might as well be the Florida of the northeast. Connecticut is obviously known for its cheating. New Hampshire is an incest ridden state that we should have nothing to do with. Vermont has never acknowledged its NE roots. Maybe Maine deserves the chance though, due to its natural beauty and warm people.
3. It's way to early to be talking about this plan. Maybe by our 3rd championship will this be plausible.

the Parade should also go through Hadley since Umass does play all their games in that town. maybe hit up the three towns of Northampton/Hadley/Amherst

I've been following along this thread (and others) for a while, but finally decided to register. I mainly did that so I could say:

I'm a sane UMass fan, we exist...occasionally.

We'll be able to compete for a national title in 2013-2014 merely by virtue of being a Division I team - an A10 title (regular season or tournament) and a bid to the NCAA tournament...that's all I'm going to set myself up for in terms of expectations. I graduated recently, and was at both the NIT championship that we lost, and the Football Championship that we lost, so I'm used to being let down. Until we actually win something meaningful, I'm not setting any sort of high expectations.

That's pretty ironic coming from you.

And no La Salle will not be near the top of the A-10 this year. Sure, your team surprised last year, but in the end what place did they come in? 6th. That's really their ceiling. And adding in Butler and VCU this year, I'd say 8th place would be a surprise. So there you go, La Salle will surprise everyone again this year..

The Explorers finished ahead of UMass in the official standings by beating UMass twice. I know we won't beat you all twice this year because we only face you once... and am looking forward to beating UMass again.

La Salle finished tied for fifth with UMass and two other teams. But due to tie-breakers La Salle finished 7th and UMass 8th.

OK - from reading this thread and the other about facilities in the A-10, this is what I have come up with - UMass has the greatest fans that come out in droves to their games at the Mullins and the program is poised to win the national championship next season.

I feel like this place is some sort of alternate universe.
