Frank Martin resigned because he took the job at South Carolina - why would K-State fire a guy who took them to an Elite 8 and subsequent NCAA Tournaments? IIRC, K-State did hire a retread coach in his place. Maybe that's why they were willing to pay a visit to DC.

One of the members of the Rhody Hoops message board with very good connections stated that he expects there to be at least one buy game to offset games Rhody has guaranteed at the Ryan Center.

The quote was:

It is being reported that URI has added an OOC game at Rice (CUSA member coached by ex Cal and Eastern Michigan Coach Ben Braun). URI can still play three more games in addition to its current known schedule. With seven home games already, it is thought that Rhody may schedule more road games.

Apparently Butler was scheduled before they joined the A 10. How will the A 10 treat the outcome of the game, will it count in league standings or not. My guess is not.
