Good riddance, Owls.

Rumor has that Wyatt talked to London Warren about prostitutes before hand.

Re: Wyatt arrested

I hope that atleast the undercover cop was like the countless hollywood actresses who have played them (Sandra Bullock, Halle Berry and others) and not some of the female cops we have here.

Re: Wyatt arrested

His statement per John Di Carlo from Owlscoop

Khalif Wyatt issued this statement through the university:

“I apologize to my family, teammates, coaches and Temple University for the embarrassment that I have caused. I was in Atlantic City this past weekend celebrating my 21st birthday with friends and exercised very poor judgment by allowing myself and my friends to be put in a compromising situation. I intend to cooperate with the authorities during their investigation and the legal process.”

Hahaha, that made me like the Jacksonville Jet a lot more. Same deal with Wyatt. Give him a slap on the wrist and let him back on the court.

Re: Wyatt arrested

I am pretty shocked at the number of posters here - mostly from Temple - that think there is a good chance he won't play again. Really? I would have thought a few games suspension at most. Unless there is more to the story, I don't think a 20 yr old kid celebrating his 21st in AC and getting involved with a hooker is that big of a deal. Not something I'd do, but not something that should cost him his senior year.

5 games.

Absolutely, 5 games and the taunts he will endure on the road seem like more than enough for the minimal crime committed here.

Pretty clear consensus that this is not that big of deal, except for a couple fringe extremists.

Two or three game suspension would satisfy me.

Re: Wyatt arrested

Like it or not, this type of story could appear at any time for any of our teams. We are dealing with young kids who have a ton of attention focused on them from a young age. The basketball coaches are not able to keep an eye on them 24/7.
Those who live in glass houses, have at it.......
It is ironic that AC (after losing the tourney) happens to grab a bunch of Temple kids in a sting like this. They should ahve gone to Brooklyn.

Did anyone check to see if Atlantic City's Chief of Police is a St. Joseph's graduate ?

That would make it an even more interesting story.

Agree. Wasn't Warren playing the very next day in the NIT after he got caught with prostitutes?

Obviously he wasn't arrested, but still same offense/act.

Re: Wyatt arrested

I'm sure he is embarrassed and maybe that is the worst punishment. 21 year olds that have been drinking do some dumb things. I hope it does not ruin his career at Temple and he is on the court when we take our last shot at beating them while in the A10. No stone throwing here.

Not sure I follow your logic. If it were a Catholic university and he was involved at any level he'd be gone due to the moral code of conduct.

Since Temple is a public university they will probably have to await a verdict before punishment is handed out.

Re: Wyatt arrested

Anyone familiar with the term "Philadelphia Lawyer"?

A good lawyer and he gets a short probation with a public written apology. Maybe even deferred adjudication, which means the arrest goes away after a year or so of good behavior. If Temple gives him more than a 5 game suspension, the lawyer starts barking and it gets reduced.

By January, no one will have any memory of this, except the student bodies at the away games.
