Re: Wyatt arrested
In situations like this, I always ask myself WWJCD? (What would Jim Calhoun do?)
With that in mind, Wyatt should be suspended until after the first television timeout of the first inconsequential home OOC game (Qualifier: opponent must be from Ivy, Patriot MEAC, NEC, AEast conference only, and can't have finished in RPI top 250 last season), assuming that there isn't a big booster in the stands or something of vital importance like that where he would need to start. That should satisfy everyone. Calhoun's a genius like that. Storrs is like the Camp David of college hoops.

Re: Wyatt arrested
Wow, a whole lotta stupid in this thread. Jail time for a first time soliciting offense?
I don't see this as a big deal at all. I'm pretty sure this sort of arrest is commonplace in AC, and there is very little jail time done, if ever. As far as how Temple handles it, 3 games sounds about right.

Re: Wyatt arrested
Obama should legalize prostitution and pot and tax the crap out of them like everything else. Many Californians have an enormous untaxed income from grass. Think of the mega billions. The economy would recover nicely. We could layoff thousands of cops/corrections people and start a REAL jobs program for the masses. Costa Rica issues medical cards to ho's that have to be updated monthly.
As for the "morality issue" in victimless "crimes", Free Will's a bitch. |

Back on topic: I agree with those saying that this is a minor defense, but SpiderDave makes a very good point. Khalif has always been a troublemaker at Temple, having been disciplined numerous times by losing minutes, and I think this might be the straw that broke the camel's back here. Dunphy is sick of this behavior, and to be honest, he knows that this is a great excuse to kick Khalif off of the team for the betterment of his team's chemistry and level of play. Don't expect to see Khalif Wyatt wearing the cherry and white next year.

Re: Wyatt arrested
He's not a troublemaker in the slightest. That is an absolute bullshit characterization. He is a great guy who is loved by everyone on campus. He is not getting kicked off, and you, of all people, haver zero inside information to say so.

Re: Wyatt arrested
I don't need to go to Temple to know that not everyone loves him. Even saying that everyone who actually knows him loves him would be a stretch. I understand your point, clearly he must be very well like. I was merely pointing out that the hyperbole was drawing away from your response.

Re: Wyatt arrested
Oof. Tensions rising. Getting a little testy in here?
Back on topic: I'm not saying he isn't a good guy that is not well liked around campus. Fact is though, he is a proven troublemaker. I have seen him being disciplined before by coach Dunphy a number of times. Most recently he was sat for the first half in the A-10 tournament because he arrived late to the team meetings. And now it is this. He's still most likely a good guy, and he still is probably well liked, but his actions are starting to build up. There's a very good chance he will not play for Temple next year. I know you won't believe me when I say this, but I have an inside source who is a good friend of mine from Temple. Let me just put it this way about Khalif's chances of playing for them next year: Things aren't looking good..
