Never like BU. Northeastern is OK. Like Holy Cross way more with their history.

Re: Boston U to Join Patriot League

Would I be correct in assuming that Boston U won't have to forfeit athletic scholarships like Fordham had to do 2 decades ago when they joined the Patriot League? Joining the Patriot League in itself didn't damage Fordham; stopping athletic scholarships did. They didn't know how to recruit student-athletes in the same way that Ivy League and other Patriot League schools at the time did.

Yes, you are correct. However, recruits will have to meet the Patriot League's Academic Index (AI) which is a formula derived from a combination of test scores and high school performance that is designed to ensure that student-athletes are academically representative of the student body of the institution as a whole. That is likely to affect the recruits they go after. For example, both Penn (the Ivies also have an AI) and Bucknell are rumored to have backed off on the recruitment of BU recruit PG Maurice Watson because of AI limitations.

We will likely throw our hat into the ring for Jake. We need beef badly.

Temple is indeed trying to get Jake. Temple, Purdue, Ohio State, Virginia, NC State, BC, Providence per Goodman.

I thought the main reason that Jake is transferring is because he wants to go the the NCAA Tournament and the America East has prohibited the Terriers from getting its league autobid. If that is truky the case and he badly wants to play in the NCAA Tournament, why would he ever consider BC or Providence. They are very much longshots.

People think Providence has a good shot because of their recruiting class, but Dunn got hurt and could be out all season. I dont know anything about what BC has this year. You're definitely right though.

Down to Temple, Providence, BC and Virginia. BC doesn't have a scholarship available, I believe. Ohio State was mentioned, but I dont think he ends up there.

Re: Boston U to Join Patriot League

Jake committed to Temple. Will be our first big off the bench and probably 7th man after Dalton Pepper.
